No deposit bonus at William Hill Casino

As the banner states, no deposit required

A short while back William Hill Casino Club launched a new £66 ‘no deposit required’ bonus offer that they are promoting quite heavily at the moment.

Now at a time when some casinos are promoting bonuses of up to $20,000 for new players, 66 quid doesn’t seem all that earth shattering.  But the key here is that no player cash is required to be deposited before you get your free money.  To get your $20,000 on the other and, you may have to deposit on multiple occasions and a total of amount of $30,000 to $40,000.

Look past the number

This raises important point that when you are comparing  bonuses on offer at online casinos, considering only the quantum of the number that is flashing on the casino banner is rarely an apple for apples comparison.

You should always read the details and understand exactly what is required from you in order to get the stated bonus amount.  Typically, you will need to stump up cash of your own – and the bonus will be expressed as a percentage of your deposited funds (also referred to as a ‘match bonus’).  Multiple deposit match bonuses are becoming popular now. For example, you get 100% match bonus on your first deposit (to a total of $x), 50% on your second deposit (to a total of $x), and so on.

Some would argue that a match bonus isn’t really ‘free money’ because you effectively have to pay to get it.  This is why the ‘no deposit bonus’ is an attractive proposition.  You get it with absolutely none of your skin in the game.

Times wagered terms

The above discussion looks only at getting your bonus funds.  The other important part of the equation is getting those bonus funds out of the casino, and just as you need to understand terms and conditions attached to the awarding of bonuses, you MUST know exactly when you can withdraw bonus funds.

Every bonus offered by every casino, has times wagered terms attached.  That is, before you can withdraw the bonus funds, who will need to turn them over a prescribed number of times first.  It may be 5x, 10x, 20x or some other amount depending on the offer but until you hit the magic times wagered amount, those funds are there to be played with and not withdrawn.

For times wagered terms of 10 times, a $100 bonus will need to be used for $1000 in bets before whatever resulting amount can be cashed out.

The key is to be clear on your entitlements.
