Unibet’s Casino Royale gets live blackjack

These days when you visit Unibet’s live casino landing page there are 2 choices:

  1. Casino Grande…containing games from Evolution gaming, and
  2. Casino Royale….containing games from NetEntertainment.

The dual platform offering isn’t new, having been in place since March this year.

What is new, is that inside Casino Royale you can now play live blackjack.

This is NetEnt’s maiden live blackjack game and they’ve gone down the ‘one to many’ path rather than the classic 7 seat version of the game.

They call it ‘Common Draw Blackjack’. Playtech would call it ‘Unlimited Blackjack’. We refer broadly to this type of game as ‘one to many blackjack  throughout the site … one deal for many players.

The main difference between this game and 7 seat live blackjack is that the dealer only deals one player hand. This hand is then played (in common) by all participating players.

Despite the fact that there is only one deal, you still get to decide how to play your hand…cards are just allocated to you based on your decision(s). As a simple example, if you stand while other players hit, an additional card is dealt but this card won’t be added to your hand total. This may sound confusing but it’s really quite simple and you get the hand of it after playing a few hands.

Of course the upside is there’s no waiting for six other seated players to play out there hands. The downside…it just doesn’t feel like you’re playing real blackjack.
