This is a development already flagged in the news forum, but worthy of fleshing out a bit further here in the blog.

European Gaming Studio (EGS) have announce that it will very soon launch a live dealer product, with studios based in Belgium, and that has been approved by the Belgian Gaming Commission (BGC).

Who are European Gaming Studio?

EGS is a three-way partnership between Tel Aviv-based live dealer solution provider Ezugi, Amsterdam investment firm Gaming Ventures and local casino operator Golden Palace Group. Golden Palace Group operate a number of gaming halls around Belgium and are related to Gaming Equipment manufacturer and distributor G.A.A Gaming Solutions.

EGS will stream game action from their newly designed studio at Avenue des Croix de Guerre in Brussels. Blackjack and roulette will be the offered initially, with dealers speaking the local language of course.

When does the studio start operating?

Reports and press releases indicate that the EGS product will  be made available to customers as early as February 1st 2015. So just over a week from now, operators holding category A+ and B+ licenses issued by the BGC will be able to offer their Belgian resident players an approved live dealer product.

Why is this significant?

The BGC announced recently that it would step up efforts to enforce a ban on live dealer games broadcast from outside Belgium. In the wake of this announcement a number of operators have closed their doors to players from Belgium.

And some words from EGS…

Mario Menegalli, Founder of the Golden Palace Group:

“As one of Belgium’s leading operators with over 50 year’s heritage, we are extremely well placed in conjunction with our proven industry partners Ezugi and Gaming Ventures to deliver a localized solution per the Belgium Gaming Commission’s guidelines from the 1st of February.”

Joint statements from Ezugi’s Kfir Kuglerand Gaming Ventures’ Willem van Oort:

“Live dealer games are a strong component of growth for operators in regulated EU markets which when combined with localised content and proven technology for the initial launch games of blackjack and roulette can further enhance the players gaming experience and operators revenue options.”
