DICJ issues alert on illegal casino websites

If you happen across an online casino website claiming it is licensed and regulated by the Macau Gaming Inspection & Coordination Bureau (DICJ), perhaps displaying a logo something like the above, then be sure to give it a wide birth.

It will be neither licensed nor regulated by the DICJ.

The DICJ has issued an alert on their website, warning of the rising incidence of gambling sites falsely (and illegally) claiming DICJ credentials.

“In response to the rising number of public inquiries on issues related to illegal gambling websites, the DICJ made the following clarification…

  1. The only official website of the DICJ is www.dicj.gov.mo.
  2. So far, the Macau Government has never issued any online interactive gaming license to any companies. Hence, all online interactive gambling websites in Macau are considered illegal operations…”

Couldn’t help notice they slipped the ‘So far‘ in there. Perhaps local casinos are pushing for some additional revenues streams now that the VIPs have stopped visiting quite so much.
