Laverna – Our live dealer of the week
If minimizing your losses is important to you, then it’s ever a good idea to play blackjack side bets. The below snippet from our page on perfect pairs and 21 +3 blackjack side bets should make this pretty clear.
“For 23+1, theoretical return to player is 96.30%…house edge of 3.7%.
By comparison, the blackjack house edge at Evolution, assuming optimal play is 0.486% which is a lot skinnier than the side bet options.”
Playtech don’t publish the RTP on their newly introduced 21+3 side bets on game rules links, however it’s safe to say that with identical win conditions and payouts to the Evolution version, a 3.7% house edge applies here also.
Pretty fat for blackjack.
Like I said, not a good idea.
But it’s Friday, and this is a recently introduced bet (2 considerations you won’t find in the blackjack advantage play bible ) so what the hell…let’s give it a go!
Enter live dealer Laverna on the Uranus blackjack table at (session played at bet365)…
Didn’t really expect any 21+3 side bet collects to be honest. Second hand in this expectation fell by the wayside with a diamond Flush…
Then next hand a Straight (which pays a lazy 10:1), on top of a doubled down win on the main game…
When the 21+3 side bets wins dried up, the main game continued to be fruitful…
Friday dinner and drinks well and truly paid for!
Have a great weekend all.
