Enabling Adobe Flash Player

Google doesn’t like Adobe Flash.

In their infinite techie wisdom they have decided to make it harder for surfers using Chrome to access Flash content over the past couple of years.

The Chrome default position used to be that if you had the Adobe Flash plugin, it played Flash content no questions asks. It then moved to only running Flash content after asking you if you really wanted to see it. In Chrome’s latest update Flash is just flat out blocked, no questions asked.

This means that without a little tinkering with your Chrome browser, all that Flash content you used to experience, like live dealer games for example, won’t work. You’ll get a message like this one when you try and load your favourite live blackjack table.

Adobe Flash Blocked

To once again have unencumbered access to live games, and all other Flash content on your PC, (without having to resort to using the likes of Microsoft Edge) here’s what you need to do.

Top right of your Chrome browser your find the little customize button (3 vertical dots).

Click on it…

Scroll down to, and click Settings

Googleflash2

On the settings page, scroll to the bottom and click on Show advanced settings

Googleflash3

Then select the Content settings button…

And on this page, select the Allow sites to run Flash button. You’ll notice that the default setting was, Block sites from running Flash.

Googleflash5

You can get fancy using the Manage exceptions button and choose to block sites running Flash as the default, and list all sites that you wish to access Flash content on. There’s a lot less messing around simply to choose to allow by default.

Hey presto, your Flash is back!

Until the next browser update…where you may have to do a little more tinkering.
