Media Live Casino made noises about their VR Goggle live game developments a couple of months ago.  Being close to April 1st and all, I wasn’t sure whether they were kidding or not.

They’re not.

According to copy on their website, VR Live Roulette is now available!

“Thanks to this new technology developed by Medialivecasino you can now play live roulette, using a virtual reality visor, and experience a 360 degree gaming world.

The player will face the roulette table and will be able to move within the Medialive studios, thereby increasing the realism of the game.

Pretty cool hey.

No word yet on which licensee casinos have actually taken on this new development. Gun to my head I’d suspect Media Live’s in-house brand 710live may be one of the first adopters.

Of course to play the game, you’ll need a set of VR goggles, and it seems the logistics on this one will go something like…

  • you’re a really good client of 710 live (or another Media Live casino carrying VR Roulette),
  • you express interest in the game, or they invite you to play,
  • they then send you a set of goggles and handsets in a , ‘VIP gift box already configured to be able to enjoy the new gaming experience.’

Now, as to just how good a customer you need to be to qualify for a VIP gift box with your VR roulette goggles, consider this. The goggles and handsets pictured above, look very much like Oculus Rift goggles and Oculus Touch handsets. This set retails for around €700.

They ain’t going to be sending these out to tyre kickers!
