That’s odd, I thought when first greeted by Lubova during a game of blackjack at Party Casino. That accent doesn’t sound Latvian.

Nor Russian for that matter as she kept merrily chatting away to other players at her full table. Pretty tough to place to place really. London born and bred wouldn’t have been a bad guess.

But then why guess when you can ask? So I did….where are you from, that is.  Her answer was gold.

“I live in Latvia,  I was born in Moldova. But I just sound British.
Nothing special really”

Au contraire Lubova.  You are definitely something special! For a start, I’ve never seen such an animated set of eyebrows on a beautiful woman before.  Quite mesmerizing really.

Then there’s the ability to hold a fluid conversation with 7 guys at once (with eyebrows still dancing all over the place).

And the deal?

Didn’t miss a beat.

Not sure what the joke was here, as I lost audio for some reason.  But it must have been funny because Sanija was struggling to contain herself for a good 15 minutes. Quite infectious really!

Funny how things happen sometimes.

We’re running a little comp in the forums  that’s all about coming up with some different chat-starters for live dealers…different to the perennial favorite - “where are you from and how’s the weather there?”

Not that I mind being asked where I’m from and how the weather is here, it’s just that when you play quite a bit, after joining your 15^th table for the day you start feeling like the weather man.

The first game I launched after posting the competition was the above pictured round of live blackjack dealt by Klaudija.  As if on cue she hit me with a greeting/conversation starter that was really nice for a number of reasons.

The greeting…“how do you feel player monday?”

The reasons I liked it…

1. didn’t have to give a weather report;
2. it’s a very open question that can be interpreted in many ways; and
3. it allowed me to answer as follows:

   “with my finger tips Klaudija!”

Boom.  That’s what we call a dad joke! I suspect I enjoyed it more than she did.

This week’s award wasn’t decided on dealing prowess.

It wasn’t decided on any particular lucky streak that I was fortunate enough to find myself on the receiving end of.

It had nothing to do with blackjack, roulette or baccarat.

Nothing even to do with time spent playing at a particular live casino.

Not that much to do with live casino games at all to be honest…other than the fact that these 4 girls are in fact live dealers.

This week’s award was decided purely on dance moves and party-ability (is that a word?). And why not? It’s the festive season after all.

One of the guys at Bodog88 brought the below video to my attention.  If you watch it once, there’s a good chance you’ll watch it twice…or more.  Sandrea, Avery, Acia and Xeah are dealers at Bodog88′s Grand Casino and they’re are all in the video. I’d say see if you can spot them but truth is they’re a little hard to miss!

Always nice to start proceedings with a Blackjack.  Even better when it’s not the only one you get during a short and sharp session!

Leila thought things were pretty funny before she even mic’d up.

Once she took her seat and began dealing hold’em poker she thought everything was a riot.

Cheeky too.

She also has a knack for very innocently extracting information from you that you wouldn’t normally volunteer.

The standard live dealer inquiries – where you’re from, what the weather’s like there, what your hobbies are etc are all thrown out the door, and before you know it you’re revealing the sordid details of your shenanigans from the previous evening.

If the dealing gig falls through she could always get a job as a CIA interrogator.

During a rather uneventful game of blackjack at William Hill,  Sonia (below) was nice enough to give me the low-down on the Riga night club scene, which will come in handy if I ever get the urge to fly 17,500 km in search of some wicked Latvian trance.

She looks the likely night club type. Couldn’t you just imagine being at the bar at some ritzy new establishment, notice heads turn and follow their gaze to see Sonia swanning in like a club queen? I could.

I could also imagine the more probable scenario: she swans through the club’s VIP entrance while I stand in a long line with all the other losers wondering if I should wait another hour, or cut my losses and go get a hot dog to eat on the way home!

Had another crack today at posting a decent win at Unibet, and a securing my place at their final blackjack table in Riga later this year.

This time I failed miserably, finishing with $4.20 in my account. I won’t say what it started at (lot more than $4.20), or how much it reached at one point (about 4x where it started) but I will say that it’s baked beans on toast for dinner tonight!

But somehow still managed to have fun.

This is Jekaterina (yes, another one), and her ability to make a losing session enjoyable is uncanny.

With 2 days left to qualify for the 12 man final table, the question is do I dust myself off and get back on the horse?

The aim of this session played at Unibet live casino was to get on to the leader board for their live blackjack tournament.

I don’t know if I made it there…that will depend on how other players have done since the Day 3 top 20 was posted. But I did manage to have a win and thus get off the mark with my first point score.  Thanks in part to a ripping start dealt by Heather Locklear look-a-like Jekaterina (first hand Blackjack, second and third hands were double down wins, fourth hand also a win).

Unfortunately I didn’t exactly come home with a wet sail.  What looked at one stage like a mortgage on a spot deep inside the Day 4 top 20 leader board finished up being a small win that puts me a long shot to scrape onto the bottom of the table.

Nonetheless an enjoyable round of blackjack that will form the foundation for my future assault on the top 12 and a seat at Riga’s Royal Casino!

Jolanta in action at William Hill live

There was a bit of construction activity going on next to our office today and a very loud and persistent jackhammer all but drowned out Jolanta’s voice during this game of blackjack at Will Hill.  Which was a pity because she seemed to have quite a bit to say to the players, and I reckon I would have had a thing or two to say back to her.

What the jackhammer couldn’t drown out was a steady stream of ‘You Win!’ messages which took the edge of what would otherwise have been an extremely painful afternoon.
