Canbet Casino closes 30 June 2011

Canbet Casino will be closing its doors on 30 June 2011.

The announcement came rather suddenly with a notification going out to affiliates on the same day as the planned closure.

Canbet will continue to operate it’s online wagering and sports betting service and players’ accounts are fully functional.  It’s only the online casino side of the business that will shut down, including the Microgaming powered live dealer casino.

We received an email from Canbet today saying,

“Please note that as of today, 30 June 2011, Canbet Casino will no longer be operational. The decision was made to re-focus on Canbet’s core business of Horse Racing and Sports Betting, and this means that all available resources will be diverted to these channels.”

Microgaming powered live casinos that are still up and running include Royal Vegas and AllSlots.

Anyway, keen to keep the good times rolling I ventured onto some more baccarat tables yesterday.  This time over at Canbet who run Microgaming’s live dealer games .

Iky was my dealer when I first launched the game.  Good start I thought (before even laying a bet).

After 20 minutes or so I wasn’t exactly killing it, but things weren’t going too bad either and I was up.

And then came the dealer change…

Enter Sakara.

Or as I now like to call her…THE SMILING ASSASSIN

The Banker wins dried up and only seemed to come when I jumped on the Player out of frustration.  When I zigged, the smiling assassin zagged – and the story was the same for most other players on the table who seemed to be betting in unison.

Within 10 minutes I was wiped out, and the assassin had cleared players from the table like a fart in an elevator.

Oh well. We all know streaks don’t last right?

For over a month now, at least once, sometimes twice a day, at random times we’ve logged in with anticipation of finally playing blackjack at a Microgaming casino.  Not once has a table been open.

I’m beginning to think the game doesn’t really exist, and rather they’ve just added it to their live games menu to fill some space and make it look like they’re got a decent game range.

Anyway, we’re nothing if not persistent so will keep on plugging away on this quest (quest is not too dramatic a word to use here – this has become a like trying to find the holy grail!)

Hopefully, like the grail quest wen we finally get there we’ll find something pretty spectacular!
