They’ve just taken the wraps off their new look and I have to say it’s a very big improvement on the old site. You won’t see the old Las Vegas welcome sign looking logo anymore – no need to piggy back on other familiar marks when you’re making a name for yourself.

Aside from looking better, the website is also easier to digest and navigate – big, bold and easy to find the important links/buttons…makes me think I need to give old livedealer.org a bit of a spruce-up!

The face-lift is limited to the website and casino brand/logo – the games are unchanged.

Lucky Live Casino have released payout stats across their live games for October.

Payout, Return to Player Rate (“RTP”), House Edge…all different names for the crucial consideration of what percentage of total bets are being returned as winnings and what percentage is being taken by the casino.

Audited and published RTP rates are pretty standard in the industry these days. The only trouble is audited rates are generally calculated based on bundled game groups – eg ‘Table Games’ which includes the casino’s live games but the specific live game returns aren’t broken out.

Anyway, it’s nice to get actual returns specific to the live games…thanks Lucky Live Casino!

October payouts:

Live Roulette: 97.77%
Live Baccarat (Punto Banco): 99.68%
Live Blackjack with Early Payout: 98.35%

Looks like Punto Banco is where the smart money’s at!

Fellas…

Are you under 5′ 5″ and looking for a car?

Does the idea of a four wheeled scooter with a roof appeal to you?

Do you already have a wife or girlfriend and have no need to impress other members of the fairer sex with a flash set of wheels?

Are you completely comfortable with your heterosexuality?

Are you happy to sacrifice a little sex in return for a reduced carbon footprint?

If you answered YES to any of these questions then read on!

On 1 July Luck Live Casino draw the winner of a brand new 2010 Smart Fourtwo car and you can still qualify, but time is running out fast. Full promo details are here but basically all you need to do is register an account at the casino and wager €50. Every €50 wagered gets you a new entry in the draw.

If you you answered NO to any/all of the above questions then just be aware that if you live outside the UK you get €8,000 instead of the car!

Good luck

Management at roulette wheel manufacturer Cammegh must be pretty happy with themselves I reckon.

Three of the biggest and most expensive casinos ever built have opened in the last 12 months…in Singapore the Marina Bay Sands and Resorts World Sentosa; in Macau the City of Dreams.

Over 750,000 square feet of gaming floor and 2000 gaming tables between them. And guess who supplied them with roulette wheels?

Like I said…happy days at Cammegh.

Speaking about the upcoming Asian gaming conference G2E Asia, company boss Andrew Cammegh said,

“We are really looking forward to our return to Macau, we have enjoyed great success in the region as our customers appreciate our no compromise approach to quality and our creativity in terms of product innovation…In January this year, we opened our state-of-the-art CNC machine shop. This major investment builds on the very high levels of confidence our customers already have in our commitment in quality control and we are proud to be producing roulette wheels to even closer engineering tolerances than ever before, setting new standards in the gaming industry.”

And as if their Asian mega-casino success isn’t enough, they also recently proved their wheels are still sought-after by the old-school European casinos, with a recent 8-wheel order from Casino Baden Baden.

If you haven’t played at this casino, then imagine a scaled down version of Monaco’s Monte Carlo Casino set in expansive gardens in Germany’s resort/spa town of Baden Baden. It’s the gaming antithesis of Macau’s City of Dreams. Strictly a jacket and tie affair, quiet, uncluttered and oozing old world charm. Of course the one similarity is they are using the same roulette wheels!

Cammegh are also up to their eyeballs in live online gaming, supplying both Evolution Gaming and the Fitzwilliam Card Club with their Mercury 2 and Slingshot 2 model wheels.

A couple of months ago we touched on the topic of whether or not to tip your dealer while playing live online. Truth be told I’ve always been a little on the stingy side when it comes to tipping dealers – even when sitting face to face across the table in a traditional casino. When I’m a faceless number on a computer on the other side of the world, my anonymity only emboldens my tight-wad tendencies.

But it seems there are players out there who take a very different approach.

It has just been reported by connections to Lucky Live Casino that one of its players recently tipped a dealer €1,300!

That’s not a typo. One thousand, three hundred Euro.

Following what must surely have been a very successful session playing Lucky Live’s Punto Banco baccarat (you don’t lose cash and then tip like this do you?) the player expressed his appreciation with what the casino is claiming to be the largest live (online) casino tip to date.

Obviously this is a claim that is very difficult to substantiate, but in the absence of reports from other casinos, I think its probably a fair call.

And to skeptics wondering whether the dealer actually gets the cash…Adrian Carli, who operates the casino’s affiliate program Livecasinopartners.com said,

“”Oh, the dealers of course. LuckyLiveCasino.com employs professional dealers. Just like a brick and mortar casino, when a dealer gets a tip, it’s theirs.”

Browsing a popular roulette forum this morning a thread caught my attention - initially because the topic involved one of the casinos listed at Livedealer.org, but then also because it had developed into 15+ page and 150+ comment monster.

As a general rule, I pay scant regard to any forum posts claiming a new system or bias has been identified. I view roulette systems and the salespeople behind them a with very, very healthy dose of skepticism. But the interest this post had provoked got me curious.

Exploitable bias at a live roulette table?

A self-proclaimed roulette expert swore black and blue that through a number of years dedicated play at Dublinbet he had identified clear spin patterns on a particular wheel. The wheel in question can be found on Dublinbet’s “roulette table 1″, which basically means it can be found of any of the Vuetec powered casinos taking play from that particular table within the Fitzwilliam Card Club, including Lucky Live Casino.

Apparently the patterns were readily identifiable by certain triggers that signaled both the start and end of the pattern. If you new the triggers and associated pattern – bingo! Money to be made.

The underlying inference being made was that a significant roulette wheel bias had been identified as well as the means to exploit it. Like I said above, normally with a claim like this I’d yawn and move on. But plenty of other seasoned roulette players were biting and the initial post was full of enthusiasm with no sales pitch so I figured there may just be something in this so I read on.

The system continues to bear fruit and interest brews

The next 100 or so posts, covering a period of a month or so were dominated by the thread-starter and contained all kinds of details of his daily sessions at Dublinbet using his system of flat betting to the wheel’s bias. Most sessions were successful. Certainly long term yield was tracking positively. Yield stats, number sequences, screen shots of opening and closing balance amounts and all sorts of random analysis was furnished with monotonous regularity. Again, no sales pitch – just palpable excitement.

Of course I was wondering why he was spending so much time reporting on how very well his system was working rather than simply using it to more money. But then maybe he’s just a lot more generous than I would be with a discovery like that.

A few other forum members started to chime in with their beliefs that the Fitzwilliam wheels may not be truly random. Talk of magnets and a rigged wheel even gathered steam. “I do OK playing on paper but have trouble when I make real bets. Something is not right there” said one. Presumably he thought there was a conspiracy against him that included the hundreds of other players playing that table and betting differently at the same time.

Surprise surprise…the sell comes

A little over a month, 100 or so posts and thousands of passionate words since the initial post comes that inevitable sales pitch, buried deep inside yet another report of a winning session…”how much would you pay for a tutorial that learns you how to double your bank in 2-3 days at each deposit?”

Then comes the asking price…€5,ooo.

Nobody sells a winning system

The classic response from one forum member, who stole words I was shouting at the computer screen…

“Nobody sells a winning system.” Which is perfectly logical. Why get rid of the goose that can lay you golden eggs? You’d have to be an idiot.

So, just to be very clear there is NOT an exploitable wheel bias at Dublinet. There is nothing remotely suspicious going on with the wheels at Dublinbet. The art of the roulette system con is however alive and well. And the lengths some of these salespeople will go to for a sale knows no bounds.

———————————————————————————————————–

I’m not much of a ‘bricks and mortar’ casino fan. Don’t get me wrong, I like to play casino games (obviously). I just don’t love the typical casino environment. Loud, overcrowded, filled with the acrid stench of greed and desperation and encouraging some of the less attractive human traits you’re likely to encounter, I’ve resigned myself to playing online.

Let me give you an example. When Crown Casino opened in my home town of Melbourne amidst great glitz and fanfare, I was compelled to go along and get amongst the casino action. In the days shortly after the casino’s opening it was one of the hot tickets in town and it was hard to get a seat at the popular game tables. Not one to enjoy betting-behind I endured a painful wait to get a seat at one of the blackjack tables and eventually took my seat.

Not 5 hands in, I started to smell a familiar odour. It smelled a lot like urine.

Turns out it was urine. One bright spark at the table not wanting to give up his seat by going to the toilet decided to use the table as a toilet…discretely flopping out his chop and letting loose while not missing a beat with his basic strategy game!

That’s it I thought. You can take your big gaming rooms jam-packed with the great-unwashed and shove them. Never again!

Well not quite never again. I’ve since been to a few casinos around the world. Some have reinforced my negative view. A couple have gone a long way to change it – Monaco’s casino, and a casino in a little German town called Baden-Baden.

Both the Monaco and Baden-Baden casinos are strictly jacket and tie affairs and oozing old school style and charm. At these casinos, you can imagine James Bond sipping his vodka martini (shaken, not stirred) and exchanging witty and suggestive repartee with a glamorously dressed Pussy Galore while playing a game of baccarat (funnily enough that night at Crown casino didn’t quite conjure the same scenario). Housed in buildings that are centuries old, stepping into the gaming floors in these places is like stepping back in time. And the patrons (in Baden-Baden particularly) don’t spoil this illusion at all!

I haven’t been to Dublin’s Fitzwilliam Card Club and Casino. But judging from photos of it’s exterior and gaming floors, I imagine it’s of a similar ilk. I’m not sure if it’s also a jacket and tie affair, but even if it is, there’s a very simple way to play the tables there without having to get dressed up. In fact you can wear your pyjamas if you want.

You see games at the Fitzwilliam Card Club and Casino can be played online, live at Dublinbet and Lucky Live Casino . The games are video streamed to your PC in real time so you can play them remotely. The croupiers are the same as those dealing to the patrons inside the casino…so are the roulette wheels, the cards and all other equipment. It’s old school gaming with a very modern twist!
