Ultimate Texas Holdem - Royal Flush

While in Las Vegas last week on a business trip I played a bit of Ultimate Texas Hold'em. I have to say it's fast becoming one of my favourite table games.

They don't happen often, but I witnessed two Royal Flushes on different days at different casinos.

Fortunately the croupier allowed me to take a couple of pics of the first one as long as I didn't show any people.

What amazes me is that the dealer gets the straight flush while the player got the Royal. What are the odds of that!!

Closest I got to a big hand was one card away from a Royal and one away from a straight flush. What could have been!

Ha Ha, I wish. The guy who won had to wait about half an hour to have the win validated before they paid him out.

fyi on some of the tables they have a Progressive jackpot that pays out when you hit a trips or better hand on the flop. It's a cash payment for the lower value hands. A Straight Flush pays 10% of the jackpot and a Royal pays the jackpot. When i left it was at $104,000. I hit a few of the lower hands, a quad paid out $1,500 for a $5 stake.
