    Playtech reports 2016 results

As a very large software and services provider operating across multiple niches, Playtech's results don't offer much of a live dealer focus.

    Still, a few interesting outcomes...

    • Revenue: €708m (2015 €630m)
    • Profit: €206m (same as 2015)
    • 22% jump in casino revenue
    • 130% jump in mobile casino revenue

Under the heading 'LOCKING-IN' FUTURE GROWTH' ...

    • Significant renewals
      - William Hill Group, Paddy Power Betfair, Betfred and Rank all renewed in 2017
      - 9 out of top 10 licensees now on long-term contracts
    • Launched 10 new licensees including Win2day, Maxbet, Sun Bingo, Pokerstars and Victor Chandler
    • Improvements to Live Casino
      - new studios in Latvia (the world’s largest next generation live casino) and Romania
      - augmented reality to enhance player experience

Not quite sure what the augmented reality bit is a reference to ... simple merging of real and computer generated imagery (pretty standard live dealer stuff these days), or something sexier which we're yet to see from any provider?
'coz good old fashioned real random beats simulated random any day

I'm fairly certain this is to do with the new "Player Experience", where live tables are branded and packaged together with the same brand of slots, for Example you'll have an Age of the Gods Blackjack & Roulette tables and be able to access the slot at the same time.

If you look at the new Bet365 Interface they are now calling the rooms "experiences".
