What are the rules for Live Roulette?

As Live Roulette is a UK based game we play standard European Roulette rules with a wheel that features only one 0. American roulette wheels feature two 0 chances that greatly increase the house edge.

The key step for the player of European Roulette is to place bets using various denomination chips (each chip being worth the relevant denomination in £s) on the game table. Players can make a variety of bets on the table as they please. The minimum bet on the table is £1, or 1 chip if you are a Freeplayer. The maximum allowed bet is £100 on a single number and £500 on any of the outside bets, with a maximum of £1000 across the table (or corresponding freeplay chip value). When you deposit money in your Live Roulette account each £1 you deposit represents a chip of the relevant denomination (£1, £2, £5, £10, £20, £50 and/or £100). You place chips of your chosen value upon the table on individual numbers or predetermined combinations of numbers. Bets can be modified at any time up until the table is declared closed on-air, or via a web pop-up within the gaming page.

Live Roulette, in accordance with European rules, applies the zero-rule should zero be where the ball comes to rest then all bets with evens odds (i.e. High or Low and Evens Bets) are lost. From time to time Live Roulette also borrows a rule from French Roulette called La Partage. Here the players of evens bets only lose half their wager on the outcome of a 0 on the wheel. Occasionally this awarded to players at random announced on-air during the show.

Like most European casinos, we experience a house edge of 2.7%, meaning that the average player loses £2.70 to us for every £100 they place on the table. Much better than American roulette - it features a house edge of 5.26% due to the double 0 pockets with twice the chance to lose on most bets.

What are the table bets and their odds?

Different types of bets attract different odds, the main bets are:

Straight Bets A bet on a single number with odds of 35 to 1.
Split Bets A bet on two adjacent numbers. If either number is the result this pays 17 to 1.
Street Bets A bet on any 3 numbers on a horizontal line. If any of the three numbers is the result this pays 11 to 1.
Corner Bets A bet on a block of 4 numbers positioning the chip in the centre of the four numbers. If any of the four numbers is the result this pays 8 to 1.
Line Bets A bet on six numbers, comprising two adjacent rows. If any of the six numbers is the result this pays 5-1.
Column Bets A bet on one of the 3 vertical columns covering twelve numbers. If any of the twelve numbers is the result this pays 2 to 1.
Dozen Bets A bet on 12 numbers, either 1-12, 13-24 or 25-36. If any of the twelve numbers is the result this pays 2 to 1.
High/Low Bet A bet on 18 numbers, either the highest (19-36) or the lowest (1-18) numbers. If any of the 18 numbers is the result this pays evens (1-1).
Even Bets Any bet on even/odd, red/black and low/high. This pays evens (1-1).

What are the french (wheel) bets and their odds?

Neighbour bets A number may be backed along with the 2 numbers on either side of it in a 5 piece bet. For example, "0 and the Neighbors" is a 5 piece bet with 1 piece straight-up on 3, 26, 0, 32 and 15. Should any of the 5 numbers be the result it pays 35-1.
Voisins du Zero This is a name for the numbers which lie between 22 and 25 on the wheel including 22 and 25 themselves. The series is 22, 18, 29, 7, 28, 12, 35, 3, 26, 0, 32, 15, 19, 4 , 21, 2, 25. 9 chips or multiples thereof are bet. 2 chips are placed on the 0,2,3 street; 1 on the 4/7 split; 1 on 12/15; 1 on 18/21; 1 on 19/22; 2 on 25/26/28/29 corner; and 1 on 32/35. Each placed bet pays out at the relevant odds for the type of bet as a table bet.
Tiers This is the name for the numbers which lie on the opposite side of the wheel between 27 and 33 including 27 and 33 themselves. The series is 27, 3, 6, 11, 30, 8, 23, 10, 5, 24, 16, 33. 6 chips or multiples thereof are bet. 1 chip is placed on each of the following splits: 5/8; 10/11; 13/16; 23/24; 27/30; 33/36. Each placed bet pays out at the relevant odds for the type of bet as a table bet.
Orphelins These numbers make up the two slices of the wheel outside the Tiers and Voisins. They contain a total of eight numbers, the Orphans comprising 17, 34, 6 and the Orphelins being 1, 20, 14, 31, 9. 5 chips or multiples thereof are bet. 1 chip is placed straight-up on 1 and 1 chip on each of the splits: 6/9; 14/17; 17/20 and 31/34. Each placed bet pays out at the relevant odds for the type of bet as a table bet.

What happens in the event of a mis-spin?

A mis-spin is a) When the ball does not go around the wheel three times, b) The ball spins out of the wheel, c) the ball is accidentally dropped during the spin or d) any other reason deemed eligible as a mis-spin as declared at the time on-air by our presenter and/or gallery staff. In these events all bets are void - no losses, no wins and all bets will be carried forward to the next spin when the ball is placed back into the last number in the wheel and the wheel is re-spun. If there is a technical issue while bets are being placed, or during a spin or mis-spin, we may decide to return all bets on the table for that game at which time your accounts will be reimbursed.

In the case of a mis spin on the autowheel the bets will be carried forward to the next game but obviously the ball will not be placed back to the last number.

What happens in the event of a broadcasting technical failure?
Any chips placed on a game affected by a technical failure are void (i.e. no losses or gains are accrued). The chips are carried forward to the next valid spin, where possible.
In the event that this is not possible for technical reasons, or no valid outcome is possible during the time of the show, the chips will be reimbursed to your account.
