A relative newcomer to the online casino scene, but
one of the early adopters of the live dealer format,
Smart Live Casino are owned by private UK based company The Smart
Gaming Group. While they do offer RNG games, as their brand
suggests, their core business is live casino games and they have
invested in their own proprietary platform to this end.
The video feed technology, betting interface, dealer
room, (central London based) and security and probity measures are all
managed by Smart Live under license and regulation of the UK Gambling
Commission (yes, they are one of the few UK operators who haven't moved
to Gibraltar for favorable gaming tax treatment).
Another notable point of difference these guys have
over the competition is the fact that their games are streamed live on
dedicated Sky and Freesat television channels in
addition to the usual website webcast. You can also phone your
bets in while watching the telecast.

Accessing the live dealers: Games on the
website are browser based and available in both the old Java interface
and a newly introduced Flash interface which is noticeably smoother and
cleaner and the recommended option. Both links are very easy to
find (unlike some casinos which bury their live dealer links for some
reason!). These guys are the only casino we have found that give
you a free play option on their live games.
Once you have established your account via the web,
and if you have access to Sky or Freesat TV, you
can also play by turning on the TV (blackjack at
Sky 870, roulette at Sky 869 and
Freesat 852, high roller roulette at Sky 870)
and either betting via the website, or your phone.

unlike most live dealer casinos which outsource all aspects of their
live dealer platform,
Smart Live Casino do it all in-house from their studio at Smart TV
Broadcasting Ltd, 4th Floor, 130 Shaftesbury Avenue, London. This seems to give them more
flexibility in differentiating their offering (eg free play, game
telecast, game variations, interface, dealers etc).
