Love that audio – real dealer chat online

There are may ways to measure the quality of an online casino game offering, and at the end of the day I guess the overriding consideration is just how well it entertains the player.

There are a whole bunch of subjective elements that come into play here, but for mine, a game that replicates the traditional (bricks and mortar) casino experience the best, is the winner.  And I think online casino software developers and operators have thought this for some time too.  After all, why else do the games have those casino sound tracks playing in the background rather than ambient music.

To be honest, I find the background audio on traditional casino games a little off-putting and generally turn it off.  It’s artificial, obviously repetitious and often very annoying.  The key element missing is realism and this can’t be fixed by simply making the sound track loader – as some casinos seem to think.

Live games games of course don’t need simulated casino sounds – simply microphones in their dealer studio to pick up the real sounds of a gaming environment. The drop of a balls into roulette wheels, the shuffling of cards, the quite background murmur of dozens of dealers talking to players, and of course the voice of the dealer running your table.

A number of live casino platforms mike their dealers up so that you can clearly her what they are saying – and they are quite chatty and attentive to questions players may have.

Check out the below recording, demonstrating clear audio coming out of Playtech’s European dealer studio…
