Gambling or sex?

b) getting your hands on the young lady doing the breast stroke on top of said chips; or

Yep, we’re pretty simple creatures us blokes.  Give us a competition with a win/loss proposition and the chance to make a quick buck and we’re usually hooked.  Throw some boobies and a pretty face into the mix and we’re sucked into a happy-place vortex from which few want to escape.

But what’s the biggest pull…sex or gambling?

We may just get the answer to this question pretty soon…or at least the dot-com world’s belief as to what the answer is.

Not long ago the domain sex.com sold for $13 million –  a current record price for a web address without a business attached to it. Now gambling.com is up for sale with rumoured interest in the $10 million plus range and the potential to set a new record.

Current owners Media Corporation bought gambling.com (with its associated web portal) back in 2005 for $20 million. A year later UIGEA was passed and site revenues plummeted (ouch!).  Now they’re seeing if anyone wants to punt that the US will soon be open for online gambling business again. If reports are correct, Playtech and bet365 are among companies willing to take this punt but what the final bid will be is anyone’s guess.
