Live European (single zero) roulette for Americans

US player live roulette (single zero)

This is Global Gaming Labs live roulette. It’s a single zero game (European Roulette) offering much better return to player rates than the double zero game sometimes referred to as American Roulette.

Nothing overly special about this; almost all live roulette games offered by the majors are single zero games. This one however can be played US players which makes it, if not special, then at least rare. US players looking for live casinos will know that they are pretty thin on the ground. Even thinner if you’re an American player looking to play live roulette without a 5% house edge!

About a year ago we noticed GGL had overhauled their live games with the result making for a pretty enjoyable playing experience. Back then their games were being offered by another US facing operator, 5Dimes who have since switched platforms leaving any Americans with a particular liking for GGL’s games and dealers in the lurch.

Now they are offered at BetOnline which is also US player friendly.

Games include roulette (single zero), blackjack (with surrender) and two versions of baccarat they call:

  • Baccarat‘ – same rules and payouts as your typical live baccarat, Banker (0.95:1), Player (1:1) and Tie (1:1) plus pairs side bets; and
  • Punto Banco‘ – similar to Super 6 baccarat in that Banker wins pay 1:1 except for a win with score of 6, in which case payout is 0.5:1.

Confusing names really…given their ‘Baccarat’ is what most players would consider to be Punto Banco Baccarat.

More details on the house rules and limits for these games may be found at our ‘live dealers for US players‘ page.

One interesting feature of GGL/BetOnline live blackjack is the disconnection policy which states:

“Attention Players:
We are pleased to announce that we now have logic in place that will apply Blackjack Basic Strategy to your hand in the event you lose connection with our system.
Basic strategy will be applied in the event you lose connection from our servers anytime after the bet timer expires.”

Here’s the Basic strategy card they apply in the unlikely event of a disconnection (and which you should consider using any time you play live dealer blackjack at BetOnline!)
