Evolution reports strong revenue growth
Now that they’re a public company, Evolution Gaming are obliged to release financials and earlier this month they reported their 2015 first half (January-June) results.
The results make for happy reading if you’re an investor; more sobering from a players’ perspective. But the key takeaway for mine, is that live gaming is a niche that is still growing very strongly.
Revenue for the 6 months to June 30 2015 was € 33 million, up 55% on the same period last year (€ 22 million). Operating profit more than doubled.
Interestingly, growth in mobile use was particularly strong, with operators more than doubling the mobile to desktop percentage of revenue earned from Evolution’s tables.
“In the second quarter, 24% of the operators’ gaming revenues via the Evolution platform were generated by mobile devices compared to 11% last year. In absolute numbers the increase was more than 250%, still without cannibalising other platforms.”
Other highlights getting a mention were:
- EGR B2B Live Casino Supplier of the Year award number 6 (in a row);
- the opening of the Casino de Spa in Belgium. Belgium is expected to become their largest regulated market after the UK; and
- several operators having decided to go ahead with new table games launches from November.
At 30 June 2015 the company employed 1,548 staff. The number right now is no doubt higher.
In case you’re wondering I am (regrettably) not an investor.
No slow down in Q3.
Operating revenue for 3 months to Sept 30, 2015: €19.5m…almost 60% up on the same quarter last year.
CEO Jens von Bahr said mobile gaming was the “main driving force” revenue growth
