Playtech's Italian speaking live dealers

Some good news for Italian players...Playtech now have Italian speaking dealers on the studio floor and an interface tailored for players in Italy.

Yes, unfortunately for English speaking players this has meant the loss of many popular dealers to Italian speaking tables we are not allowed to join.

As it's Playtech's Riga casino policy not to discuss the operation of the casino floor, the dealers who were moving to work only on Italian tables felt / were not allowed to say they were leaving, even on the day they moved.

So we players (fools) kept coming back several days looking for our favourite dealers who were no longer available.


It just left a really bad taste in my mouth that all they want is players to keep coming back looking for their favourites & gambling, rather than be told a dealer will no longer be available on English tables.

Welcome to the forums, and agreed, this is a little annoying! I'd also prefer just to be told what's going rather than being kept in the dark.

Hi LD, thanks for the welcome.

I've been visiting for a while now & finally decided to join & air some of my experiences and thoughts.

Mainly I've kept coming hoping to read that some casino was now offering Playtech's Italian speaking tables to non-Italian residents.

I started learning the language a couple of months ago - I think it would be great to practice the language every day & enjoy some gambling with favourite dealers.

With this in mind I have contacted the customer support of 2 casinos (bet365 & William Hill) - maybe if more players did the same they would see there was a demand for these tables from non-Italian residents.

I used to visit the Playtech casino almost every day & enjoyed gambling & chatting with several favourite dealers, telling them how my day had gone, continued previous conversations, etc.

Particular favourites that just disappeared & I subsequently glimpsed or discovered were working on Italian tables included Violeta, and also had nice times previously with Emilija, Nikola,....

Initially some of these dealers did also work the odd 30mins on English tables (not that they are allowed to say where they had been), until a whole new bunch of English speaking dealers were drafted in.

Then more recently when my favourite dealer Elizabete (has a longtime boyfriend..doh!) dropped the bombshell in general conversation that she was learning Italian - which I immediately knew what that meant.

Now after only a couple of months lessons she too has disappeared without so much as a goodbye, thanks for all the nice conversations, etc. Because - "it's studio policy not to discuss the operation of the studio"


That is how regular players are rewarded for chatting & developing favourites.

Love to know what response you got on this. And you're right, if enough players express a desire to play on the Italian tables maybe they would make them accessible to all players. Can't see how this creates any issues really. If a player at the English speaking tables tries to chat in another language the dealer politely reminds them that she/he will only chat in English....the same can be done on the Italian tables for players trying to chat in English (ie Italiano per favore with all the necessary hand gestures!)

I for one would definitely play the Italian tables if permitted....get to learn Italian as while I'm playing :)

I was thinking about this too. The rule is - that to play on those Italian tables you have to be actually located in Italy. You have to prove it somehow, I guess with the IP adress or smth... The question is - why? As in Italy the online gambling sites have to be licensed by the goverment (LD please correct me, if I am wrong), so maybe it is the goverments rule? And if so, then there is no way that Playtech or the administration of all the sites which are using Playtech's software can not do anything. Maybe that is the case? :confused:

And speaking about the hand gestures - I am trying to not move mine at all. I am not familiar with all the secret meanings, so I can show smth rude any moment.

And I have so many times said smth stupid, because the language is so new for me, and at the beggining it was quite stressfull. At the very first day, the Players died of laughter. For example, instead of "place your bets on the table", I several times said, "place your babes on the table". :D

To join Italian casinos you need an Italian tax code (Codice Fiscale) - not required UK etc casinos
proof of residency ~ passport / driving licence / identity card number etc - UK etc casinos just provide postal address
& some check IP address also yes.

Yes Italian Casinos need to be licensed, but that doesn't explain why other casinos don't allow players to join the same tables !


I think partly Playtech don't want the hassle of other players trying to chat to old favourite dealers in English.

Unclefester, from a regulatory point of view, Italy's AAMS would have rules on Italian resident access to online gambling products but they would not care or have any say on what product/service the operators provide to players outside Italy, which is what what we're talking about. I don't think this is a (Italian) regulator imposed restriction. I think it's a platform/operator policy decision. Hopefully your response from William Hill or bet365 sheds more light!

More English dealers moving to the Italian tables very soon...

I know 2 of them, but can other members beat that? ... it's a low target.


Once again players are not supposed to know which ones - or have a chance to say bye / thanks for good times.

Everytime I asked if my request could be passed on to be further considered & it was basically ignored in the reply.

All the time I felt they were either being evasive, or had some staff who didn't know left from right!
(you would never guess they are part owned by Playtech :D )


Eventualy I went via another route & got this more standard reply:

And yes, I realised that bet365 don't currently supply Italian speaking tables to Italian players.

But I was kind of hoping to get them to consider offering those tables to non-residents if they may have any future plans, before they were set in concrete so to speak.

It's strange really, because like many other casinos, you can download bet365's software in Italian language & play all the other games, perform account transactions & speak to customer support in Italian, but then they only offer the English Live Dealer tables.

Apparently no other way but to live in Italy... When I found out what was going.... Me too I heard the same in the customer support of bet365 :confused:

Remember when there were tables in german, russian and italian???... was good... me I would have liked a table in Spanish... Fortunately..., i was speaking english.... (I believe that i defend :o ), but is an aditional ingredient speak your language ;) maybe someday...

This ties in with a recent telephone conversation I had with William Hill where I was told that was the way they were going with localised software & languages.


So if any dealer tells you they are learning Italian, Spanish, Klingon, etc, ... don't be surprised if they suddenly disappear ! :(



(Regarding signatures, as I understand, it's not a matter of number of posts, rather that we are classed as Members, hopefully LD will correct me if wrong. )

I guess, he ment smth else, Unclefester. You are fighting for the Italian tables with such a ardor, that he thought that you are colecting signatures for a petition! Well, who knows, maybe not such a bad idea. Thought, I doubt that the Casino's will pay attention to that, as it's a private business, not national/goverment's... :confused:

As for Playtech-E*T ... unfortunately this is typical behaviour!!!

If you say anything to a dealer, they say "not my problem", "contact your customer support" & then when you do, & later discuss it with some dealers .... they say "it won't make a difference"

The phrase - "Lip service" - springs to mind!


If there was a direct link to Playtech, rather than having to negotiate your own casino customer support I'm sure they would get many more complaints.


I realised a long time ago Playtech don't care what individual players think!

It's more about numbers of players through its doors to show prospective casinos they should use their product.



& they buy a share of casino operators to guarantee a larger player base / market share.

Lots of bought players doesn't mean they are all happy customers Playtech!!!



I suggest reading news item thread ... Williamhill.it ... for 'The Dealers' perspective.

Question - what happens when Playtech ?? ....

• Offers dealers free Italian lessons, and pays them extra if they agree to move to work on Italian tables

• A year later they are still training more Italian dealers

• Still have the same number of Italian tables - 3 * blackjack and 1 * roulette

• Expand the number of English tables

• Don't have enough English dealers

Answer - Playtech have had to start using the Italian dealers on English tables :rolleyes:


So far, mostly the quieter tables where I assume Playtech thinks they are less likely to have to speak much English

NOT playing. Just wanting to chat all the time, sometimes in Italian, and having to be told to use English.

Maybe the dealers are only doing it subconsciously .... but it seems some dealers are trying to keep their regular Italian players happy and talk mostly with the Italian 'visitors'.

• As it is supposed to be a legal requirement that the Italian players are kept seperate ... HOW is this happening Playtech ?

It appears some Playtech dealers are just after the points that comes from compliments etc., and are perfectly happy to 'milk & fish' a table full of talking 'players' who NEVER bet.

No its not officially possible. Italian players and other country players are supposed to be kept apart as 'required' by Italian regulation AAMS.

That is why Italian tables were created in the Playtech and Evolution studios.


As I understand it the Italian regulation is considered poorly worded as the main purpose was for Italian players to be registered with nationally regulated sites for tax purposes etc. Not so much that the aim was to keep players apart.

Apparently it affected poker table revenues significantly with Italian players left with no international players at tables.

Several familiar casino brands have Italian 'dot.it' domain websites .... PaddyPower, 888 etc. They use the Italian tables.

When you try to register with an Italian casino website they check your IP address, you are required to provide evidence of residency in Italy, and an Italian tax code - Codice Fiscale.

Some people circumvent these checks by using a proxy address and someone else's details.


Seemingly non Italian casino websites are less careful about Italian players registering with them though! Italian players often come onto English tables. Although it's (still?) against Italian regulation and the casinos/studio apparently turn a blind eye to it.

If I can see Italian players on English tables and Italian dealers speaking to them, then why aren't the dealers told by the studio to report Italian players to a CSR to have their chat blocked? That would be simplest way to discourage Italian 'chat buddies' wanting to access English tables.

Italian tables have a bit more oomph (about 500x) now than when they started back in 2012 at Playtech

New to Italian operator Snaitech (owned by Playtech) is a dedicated Quantum Roulette table.
