More moving and shaking at the top of the UK online gambling industry.
Now it's Ladbrokes and Gala Coral who may merge
Gala used to be my favourite Playtech casino.

Sorry Fester, deal was sealed last Friday.Quote:
Hope they DON'T merge with Ladbrokes
..per current Ladbrokes CEO Jim Mullen, who will become CEO of the merged company which is to be named Ladbrokes CoralQuote:
Together, we will create a leading betting and gaming business combining strong brands with an attractive multi-channel offering and an extensive national and international coverage
The new business will operate under duel brands and have combined revenues of £2.1 billion.
If I close my eyes and cover my ears maybe it will go away?
Potential fallout from this is ongoing....
The UK Competitions and Markets Authority (CMA) has just provisionally ruled that the proposed merger between Ladbrokes and Gala Coral may cause competition concerns. The CMA said that up to 400 betting shops may have to be sold for the deal to go through.
Don't work at the CMA do your Fester? ;)Quote:

If I did, it wouldn't go through on my watch!
A couple of different stories on the proposed merger surfaced last week.
The British Horseracing Association filed with the CMA that the merger could lead to worse odds for punters.
Then on Sunday, a report in The Sunday Times newspaper said Ladbrokes and Gala Coral could complete their merger as early as this week:eek:.
Today, Ladbrokes issued an update which said that although it is continuing talks there's no guarantee that a deal will go through.
CMA approval now given
sorry Fester
Yeah I know :(
CMA reaffirmed that they must offload 350 to 400 high street stores.
