As a result of the new UK regulations, Betsson have announced they are closing the accounts of all British players on 31st January 2015.
No new customers will be able to play at Betsson from Britain.
Any money in customer's accounts should be withdrawn before the end of January ... according to information on Betsson's site withdraw will be possible after this date but via a more protracted customer support process.
Betsson are asking British players to open a new account in their sister company Betsafe.com (if you're not already a member).

... with the promise of all the same games including casino, poker, sports, slots, etc.
Although there's no automatic signup process (unlike some other casinos have had), and no specific bonus incentive other than the normal welcome offers ... which would have been a nice gesture.
Like many casinos at Evolution ... Betsson & Betsafe each have a dedicated blackjack table.

The Betsafe table has always been less busy whenever I visited. It will be interesting to see how much more busy it becomes after Betsson closes to UK players.

Guess it makes some sense for a company with multiple brands to only go through the licensing process with the one brand. Inevitably they'll lose some of their UK players in the transition thoughQuote:

I've finally got round to re-opening an account with Betsson - now that UK players are allowed again!
..took me a while (to bother) as I was playing at their tables via their other UK friendly casinos sites.
....time to update the Compare Live Dealer Casinos page again LD :p
