Always nice to get away to a flying start in the Evolution Gaming VIP tables.

But intent of my post isn't to brag about a Blackjack hit but rather to highlight an annoying occurrence known as deal lag or deal latency.

The above game was played over a coffee at my local cafe using a shared wi-fi connection. Must have been plenty of customers busily uploading photos to their Facebook profiles or downloading movies, because the connection was pretty slow at the time.

And the result of the slow connection can be seen in the screenshot.

Notice the players have already been awarded the win while the dealer's hand appears yet to be played? In actual fact the dealer's hand has been played...she busted to 26. It's just that the slow connection is causing the video stream to lag behind the game result.

Depending on the extent of lag the game can become pretty annoying to play...and conversations with the dealer become very disjointed.

If you're always playing over a fast connection (2 Mbps+) you'll be wondering what the heck I'm talking about, never having experienced anything like it.
