My very first online live dealer hand of cards were dealt by the lovely Zanda at Playtech.

I can still remember how friendly she was then, and so she became the first dealer I ever chatted to.

In subsequent visits to the casino I played with lots of dealers and so I lost regular contact with Zanda.

Of the few times we chatted I learnt of her love of puzzles including Sudoko, and her varied likes in TV programmes ... including a very quaint British comedy 'Keeping up Appearances', which surprised me to hear they saw in latvia.

Her biggest claim to fame is she cooks the best tomato soup !

Last year she took Italian lessons provided by Playtech, and she moved to work on the Italian tables. I assumed I would never see her again. If you like symmetry in your life perhaps your first dealer should also be your very last, ... but the World is chaotic by nature. Luckily this year she has sometimes worked on an English table and so we've had the chance to talk once again.

She is still the same lovely friendly cheerful person she always was.

Can other players remember their first live dealer ?

Wow that's some memory you have Fester.

I think the first live game I played was a Playtech Asian studio game with the dealer in a very small video and sitting in front of a bland blue screen. No chat. No interaction. No emotion.
Probably took me a while to figure out the dealer was a real person and not an avatar

Needless to say, not quite as memorable as your first encounter.

You made me smile when you mentioned if an avatar or not. The number of times I have seen players ask dealers if they are real

Usually the dealers response being that they can wave to the player to prove it. I always think if the casino was clever enough to use avatars then they would have built-in the ability to wave to a player on request

Still! I can understand being unsure a few years ago, but now the video's pretty damn good (not to mention the interaction and other dealers in background).
Pixar couldn't make (virtual) dealers look that real, even with a the ability to wave on request.

Yes that is what I find amusing and strange ...

how with the quality of video now, level of interaction, things you see & HEAR in the background (a bugbear of mine)

... that some players think they can 'catch the casino out' by asking if the dealers are real !

I still remember the Player, with whom I talked at the first day, when on the Playtech European platform we started to use microfones. It was at the autumn of 2009 and he was from Australia. Not you, LD. Other guy. And I know that also he recognize me as the Dealer, whose voice he heard at the first "Online Casino with audio option" day. Years past, but it was always so nice to chat with him and always at the same time - Saturday evening, ~8-10pm.

That's around 3-5 am Sunday morning for most of Australia.

    Either he liked to gamble:
    a) before his very early morning jog, or
    b) after putting his buns in the oven because he is a baker, or
    c) after returning from a big Saturday night out on the town

My bet would be on c)

(did he slur his typed words?)

Yes, it's C! He was always getting out every Saturday eve, and afterwards spending some time gambling, but just in case of an unfortunate eve - if he could not pick up some chick... I don't remember huge typo mistakes, but ususally he said he continues enjoying some whiskey glasses at home.
