    Evolution Gaming to buy Ezugi

Quite significant development the live gaming niche... Ezugi are being purchased by Evolution Gaming

We've seen a lot of consolidation in the casino operator space in the last coupe of years...new mergers or takeovers every few months.

Now starting to see some more moving and shaking with providers, as the niche starts to mature a little.

Extreme Live Gaming were bought by Pragmatic
mid year. Now Evolution / Ezugi.

    Who's next?

Further to the information contained within LD's feature on this news item,

    Ezugi sent out a communique today;

We are happy to inform you that Evolution Gaming announced yesterday that it has entered into an agreement to acquire the business of Ezugi.
This move is a two-ways strategic decision for Ezugi to join a world-leading live dealer provider to gain the best of knowledge and technology and for Evolution to grow their footprint in markets like USA and SA.
Ezugi will continue to operate as a sub-brand and will continue to serve existing and new partners and will continue to invest in our strategic projects including Ezugi 3.0, Romania Flagship Studio as well as licensing for Spain, Italy & MGA.
As a valued partner, it is important you know we do not foresee any changes to our existing partnership relating this deal and that we are staying committed to continue and accelerate our fruitful relationships with you!

... pretty much like you would expect at such a time.

The Romania output is perhaps where players (& staff) will see the biggest changes

With Evolution also having a Romania studio, although that has already been "overtaken" by the newer Georgia studio - the most recent figures I've seen put Evolution's Georgia operation at almost double that of Romania.

Focusing on the bigger, more widely known platforms to European players,

I can fully see the rationale behind acquiring Ezugi.....the markets and studios it brings to the table.

Authentic Gaming must be a ripe target for some suitor (already halfway into bed with Playtech) as a specialist provider of live casino games streamed from inside bricks and mortar casinos given the current trend for increasing Dual Play tables and their ilk.

As for the rest I don't see they have much worth bringing to the table. Other than NetEnt with its award winning progressive jackpot games, increasing licensee numbers and a Malta studio.

ps. not forgetting that in the UK one of the most visible platforms appearing nightly on British television screens NetPlay TV (brands Supercasino & Jackpot247) having succumbed to Betsson Group last year.

Yeah perfect fit for a provider that is strong on studio games, behind the pack on in-casino tables .

not forgetting... NetPlay TV (brands Supercasino & Jackpot247)
For some reason I always think of Netplay as an operator rather than a provider. Probably because they keep their game in-house.
