A little history

You can play live dealer games on your iPad, iPhone or Android device at a growing number of casinos. Game/table range available for play on mobile devices has been growing fast over the last few years.

The first mobile live games, appeared in 2012. Back then, casinos’ mobile game suites were far more limited than what was available for play on laptop or desktop computers.

First live roulette only. Then blackjack and baccarat became available.

Today, the mobile live game range at the big brand casinos (powered by leading providers) is pretty much the same as what you can play on your laptop.

Commendable strides have been made by the providers to make the mobile versions of their games as easily playable as possible. But limited screen size (phones particularly, not so much tablets) can make play a little challenging.

If you have fat fingers, or aren’t known for your dexterity you may want to avoid mobile phone play (as I do).

What live games at which mobile casinos?

  1.  A number of casinos offer Apps in the Apple Store, or at Google Play. Typically these will available to UK residents only. If you are not in the UK, you may get a message something like:
“The item you have requested is not currently available in the [your country] App Store, but is available in the UK Store”
  2. Even if you can’t access the casinos’ App, you will be able to play the games (with some minor differences like game range etc ) via their mobile website.
  3. It has to be said, in most cases, live game delivery via mobile is inferior to delivery via PC (video quality, video continuity, ease of navigating from table to table etc). Some providers are are bridging this gap faster than others.
Evolution Gaming’s mobile games (William Hill, 888, Unibet, Bwin, Betvictor, LeoVegas, Grosvenor) are leading the way. Playtech (bet365, Betfair, Paddy Power, BetFred) have improved considerably from their early mobile efforts.
  4. While play on iPhones and Android phones is possible, you may well find the UI annoyingly small.

Anyway…if you really must play on the go, these are your best bets.
