Portamaso Live Basic Rules

How to play:

The aim of blackjack is to get higher cards than those of the dealer without going over 21. The bet will be lost when going over 21.
All of the picture cards have a value of 10, the cards from 2 to 9 have the same value as shown on the cards themselves while the Ace can be counted as 1 or 11, depending on the situation.

To place a bet, one needs to select the value of the chip and click on an empty box.

After the time to place a bet is over, the dealer deals the cards, starting from the first box which has bets on it on the right side of the screen. The dealer deals cards on each and every box with bets on them, then deals another card for himself and continues to deal the second card on the players' boxes, and stopping on the last box.

If on the first two cards one doesn't have a blackjack, it is possible to do the following actions:

Stand: no more cards will be dealt and the player sticks to the value of his original two cards.

Hit: the dealer deals one more card. It is possible to "hit" multiple times, but be careful not to go over 21.

Split: if the first two cards have the same value, for example two 7's, it is possible to split them so as to have two separate hands, betting automatically the same amount as your original bet on the second hand. It is possible to split up to a maximum of 4 times. Only one card is dealt on each hand when splitting Aces. If a 10 value card is dealt, it is considered as 21 and not blackjack.

Double: it is possible to double the bet by putting in the game an amount exactly the same as your original bet. When doubling, only one card is dealt by the dealer.

Insurance: if on the first two cards you do not have a blackjack and the dealer has got an Ace, it is possible to buy insurance. In this case, another bet is placed equal to half your original bet. If at the end of the game the dealer gets a blackjack, the insurance will be paid 2:1. If the bank does not make a blackjack, the insurance bet will be lost and the dealer will then compare his hand with yours.

The dealer needs to observe certain rules when he needs to deal his own hand:

- needs to take cards till he gets 17 or more - needs to stop on 17 or higher

The cards of the dealer and those of the players are compared at the end of the game. It is important to know that a blackjack beats any hand with the exception of another blackjack. If the cards of the player are higher than those of the dealer, the bet will be paid even money (1:1) with the exception of a blackjack where it is paid 3:2.
