Another little footnote to KP’s casino exploits is that since inheriting the Packer fortune his son James has decided to reshape the business from a media empire to a casino empire.

I guess he saw first hand how much the old man gave to some casinos and decided to back the house.

He bought a bunch of Vegas casino properties, built casinos in Macau and strengthened his Australian casino holdings.

I think he’s still a couple of $billion down on what he inherited from his old man back in 2006 – GFC and big losses on Vegas investments.
