The first new game of 2020 from Evolution Gaming has arrived.

As previously anticipated it's
Attachment 6371
- with a very BIG, (albeit remote) potential payout for Tie ....more on that later.
the startup information boxes do a good job of explaining the fundamental mechanics of the baccarat table,

So then, first things first.
Lightning Baccarat plays like a normal game of baccarat except with different potential payouts (up to a maximum of 512x on Player/Banker)
There's a fee/charge for playing of 20%.
(Regular) Tie bets only pays 5:1 - (Lightning Tie has a maximum payout of 1310720:1
In time for Chinese New Year
What's the bet we see some rat ornaments on the Lightning Baccarat table this weekend?
I'll take that bet!Quote:

I'm saying not .... as I'm such an open minded optimist (and I think I know Evo) ;)
While we wait for any rat ornaments, back to the game flow in a bit more detail;
So whatever bet/s you place there's a 20% fee/charge.....this is in addition to your bet/s (rather than deducted from it).
As demonstrated here, a bet of £1 chip on Banker = a total bet of £1.20 including the fee (the total amount taken from your balance).
Attachment 6383
A bet of £2 equals £2.40 from your balance, a £10 bet = £12 from balance and so on.
Once bets are closed it's time for the Lightning round.
In a similar fashion to Quantum Blackjack, Lightning cards are drawn from a virtual 52-card pack.
Between 1 and 5 cards are drawn randomly and assigned random multipliers of 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 8x
Attachment 6384
(unlike Quantum BJ the virtual Lightning cards are revealed via game interface, bottom left corner)
Then it's back to the real cards in the shoe and a (normal rules) round of live dealer baccarat......with a win for Player/Banker or a Tie.
Attachment 6385
The virtual Lightning (/multiplier) cards only come into play if at least one matching (suit & value) real card is dealt to the winning spot and you've placed a bet on it.
Attachment 6387
A regular payout is multiplied by the total value of active Lightning multiplier(/s) - more than one Lightning card dealt to the same spot has the added reward of them being multiplied together.
The quoted max payout of 512:1 for Player (Banker) comes from when 3 cards are dealt to Player(Banker) & all 3 cards are Lightning cards, each with a multiplier value of 8x ........ 8x8x8 =512
In the previous example you see how a 4x multiplier was drawn for Player.
Ultimately the Banker spot won with a card value of 8.....and so no multiplier was paid this time.
More interestingly, you'll notice a 20x appeared on the Tie spot (5:1 being the reduced regular payout here multiplied by 4 =20). So if the Banker's third card had instead resulted in a Tie , the payout would have been 20:1 for Tie :) .
The cumulative effect of combining ALL drawn multiplier cards together is where the mind blowing figure of 1310720:1 max (extremely unlikely) payout for Tie comes from.
eg. an extra card drawn to both Player & Banker = 6 cards on the table.
- If (by the luck of the Gods) they are all Lightning cards & all of multiplier value 8x
- the payout for a Lightning Tie would be 8x8x8x8x8x8 x (regular payout of 5:1) = 1310720
The Player Pair & Banker Pair side bet payouts of 9:1 are also boosted by Lightning cards up to a max of 576:1
As can be seen from the game help information, including the all important RTP,

Great summary Fester, thanks.
Interesting (confusing) how they've expressed the Banker win payout:
Is this not...Quote:
1-512 : 1
95% of your Banker bet is returned if the Banker wins
0.95-486 : 1
Not entirely correct LDQuote:

It did jump out at me also the way they expressed the Banker win payout.
But read the words slowly "95% of your Banker bet is returned if the Banker wins"
ie. your bet on Banker - NOT your winnings (inc from any multiplier)
so after seeing several Lightning multiplier wins for Player I finally picked up a Lightning win on Banker...
Attachment 6389
- a £1 bet on Banker, combined with a Lightning multiplier of 8x active on Banker side = cash win of £8.95
ie. (95% of £1 Banker bet = £0.95) + (8x 1) = £8.95
versus a 8x Lightning win on the Player side, you would have won £9
A Player win here with active 3x multiplier (courtesy of the 7♣), and a nice 27x for anybody betting on Player Pair,

Lightning Baccarat now also available at several more casinos
eg. Betsson Group brands, BetVictor, Bwin, Grosvenor & William Hill.
Great example, and all clear nowQuote:

ie. (95% of £1 Banker bet = £0.95) + (8x 1) = £8.95

thanks Fester
I don't see Lightning Baccarat at William Hill. At the same time (just 1 minute for re-login) it is available at Unibet. At Betsafe it's available as well, at 888, even at Dafabet.
Still available at William Hill,

The Lightning table has had a quick rollout......simpler to list which major Evolution casinos it's not at (Betsafe is a Betsson Group brand casino).
Here's a few rounds played today. No decent multiplied wins for me. Few multipliers in play for the round actually.
Still, it's a fun game to play...as all these multiplier-type games are
