Finally got around to having a play (had to fly to other side of world to do it!). Below is a little video action of a couple game rounds, which I've captioned to hopefully help make a little more sense of the game.
If you've never watched the TV show (count me in here), this game will be a complete mystery to you initially. Throw in Evolution's qualification/unlock game and it's pretty confusing.
Had absolutely no idea what was going on initially. Had to have a re-read of Fester's review, which does great job of explaining everything before I got my head around things. One thing I would add though is that while briefcase 16 is the default top dollar case, you can choose another number (this confused me no end).
Funnily enough, while I had no idea what was going on I won money. When I finally got a handle on things and knew what was going on I started giving it back :D . Guess that's the hallmark of no-skill Game Show type live games where skill plays little part...you don't need to know what you're doing to go OK. BUT, chances are you will not go so OK in the long run (Deal or No Deal's theoretical return to player is only 95%)
The presenters generally have a wacky, zany, high energy style of presenting. Perhaps taking their cues from TV game show hosts. I just find this annoying (one of the reasons I don't watch game shows). But clearly plenty of players don't share this opinion; player numbers on this game are already making it one of Evo's more popular games.
