NetplayTV sells Abstract Gaming
4 January 2010, Staff writer
In what
looks to be a post GFC spring clean, NetPlayTV are selling their recently
acquired interest in Abstract Gaming Limited ("Abstract") back to its original
owners.
NetPlay have paid a total of £2.612 million in staged payments for Abstract
following a deal struck back in February 2007. The original owners, Ronald
Hatchett, Steven Breeds and Adam Yendle have now bought their company back in a
peppercorn deal costing them £1.
Abstract is a Sunderland based interactive print media gaming business. It
produces game cards for newspapers and magazines and also services a subscriber
database of over half a million customers. Back in 2007, NetPlay described
the acquisition as "...allowing the company to develop unique interactive gaming
experiences encompassing printed media, Internet, mobile and television in one
truly converged offering."
NetPlay will continue to earn revenues from subscription services introduced,
and customers acquired during the period that they operated Abstract.
