Live dealer poker
The below poker games differ from the games you’ll find in your typical online poker room in two key respects:
- here you are playing against the house, NOT other players (bluffing plays no part in any of these games!); and
- the deal is real (physical cards, human dealer), not computer simulated.
A growing list of live poker variations are now available, including Casino Hold’em, Texas Hold’em and Caribbean Stud Poker.
The below are all 5 card poker games. For 3 card live poker tables click here.
Live Casino Hold’em Poker
Casino Hold’em was the first live poker table to make an appearance.
Playtech, Evolution and a growing list of new entrants in the live dealer provider space all offer live dealer Casino Hold’em (actually with identical house rules).
An Ante bet gets you a couple of pocket cards and a look at a Flop. A Call bet gets you a look at the Turn, River and the dealer’s cards. Winning payouts vary depending on the quality of your winning poker hand.
Payouts of up to 100:1 offered on your Ante bet.
Live Caribbean Stud Poker
Caribbean Stud was introduced by Evolution in 2015.
In mid 2019 Playtech launched Casino Stud Poker – same game by a different name.
You place an Ante bet and then 5 cards are dealt to the player, and 5 to the dealer although only 1 of the dealer’s cards is dealt face up. You then decide whether to fold or Call (2x Ante bet) and see whether you beat the dealer’s hand.
Offers payouts of up to 100:1 on the Call bet and 1000:1 on ‘5+1 Bonus‘ bet.
As of January 2017, a progressive jackpot side bet was added to Evolution’s Caribbean Stud.
Live Texas Hold’em Poker
Live dealer adaptations of a Texas Hold’em poker deal. All house games.
Live Royal/Russian Poker
Royal Poker is another house poker game where the aim is to better the dealer’s poker hand. But it comes with a few extra options to improve your hand after the initial deal.
An Ante gets you in the game, 5 cards and a look at one of the dealer’s 5. From here in addition to Fold or Call you get Swap or Buy cards to improve your hand. You can also help the dealer qualify when a big payout is on the cards.
Bet On Live Poker tables
‘Bet on’ games have become a bit of a category unto themselves.
They offer a broad range of betting opportunities on a card game deal. Payouts are usually house calculated based on the game’s state of play and bets placed via a bet slip.
