Extreme Texas Hold’em Poker Live from Evolution

Players frequenting the poker section of Evolution’s live games lobby may have noticed the addition of the Extreme Texas Hold’em table.

It joins Ultimate Texas Hold’em (launched 2016) and Texas Hold’em Bonus Poker (2017) as another live dealer player versus the house Texas Hold’em variation.

Ultimate Texas Hold’em gives players a single raise opportunity during the Texas Hold’em deal. On the Texas Hold’em Bonus Poker table you are able to check/raise multiple times throughout the deal – pre Flop, post Flop, post Turn and post River.

So what’s the deal with Extreme Texas Hold’em and how does it differ to the other tables?

What is Extreme Texas Hold’em Poker?

Evolution’s Extreme Texas Hold’em table differs from the Ultimate Texas Hold’em in a single respect – name. Name of the table and name of the bets. In all other respects the game is identical.

When you place an Ante bet on the Ultimate table (left), a chip of the same value is automatically placed on the Blind. On the Extreme table, an Ante bet sees a chip of the same value is automatically placed on the Ante Plus.

On either table, you are afforded the exact same check or raise (PLAY) opportunities. A single chance to raise with the raise amount decreasing as the deal progresses.

The win loss conditions and payouts on the Ante bet and the Blind or Ante Plus bets are identical.

Even the game’s side bets are the same, although differently named. The payouts for the Trips side bet (on the Ultimate table) and the Best Five side bet are identical as shown below.

And with an identical ruleset, comes an identical theoretical return applying to all the corresponding bets on either table:

  • RTP Ante bet 97.82%
  • RTP Total bet 99.47%
  • RTP Trips or Best Five side bets: 96.50%

So there you go. Same games. Different names.

Begs the question as to why Evolution felt the need to add the Extreme Texas Hold’em table. Particularly as the Ultimate table can serve an unlimited number of players.
