Ice Fishing Live – Evolution’s first speed game show

Ice Fishing was one of Evolution’s most anticipated releases for 2025, after they previewed it at the ICE-2025 casino exhibition in Barcelona in January.
Described by the company’s Chief Product Officer as a, “speed game show…for a growing audience that craves faster, more instantly gratifying formats“, Ice Fishing brings a simple format, fast game rounds and the promise of potentially big payouts (max 5,000x).
You’ll find it in the game show section of Evoution’s live lobby at any casino carrying their live games, such as 888, Frumzi, Windetta or Stelario.
What is Ice Fishing?
Ice Fishing is driven by a 53 segment virtual big wheel. Quick note on the wheel…it’s not Evolution’s DigiWheel first unveiled on Funky Time. That’s a physical wheel and flapper with digital elements contain within. The wheel used here is entirely virtual, meaning outcomes are entirely RNG generated.
The wheel is segmented as follows:
- Leaf 1 bet spot (23 segments)
- Leaf 2 bet spot (23 segments)
- Lil’ Blues bonus game spot (4 segments)
- Big Oranges bonus bet spot (2 segments)
- Huge Reds bonus bet spot (1 segment)
These are your bet options.
A winning bet on the Leaf 1 & 2 segments pay even money.
A winning bet on either of the three bonus game spots carries to the Ice Fishing bonus game.
Additionally, after bets close random multipliers (1× to 10×) are randomly allocated across all segments. On a Leaf segment the instant payout is boosted accordingly. For example, a 10× multiplier increases the payout for that segment to 9:1. On a bonus game segment it multiplies all possible outcomes in the bonus game accordingly.

The Ice Fishing Bonus Game
The Ice Fishing bonus games are where the big payouts are. The games are quick and simple and involve the presenter reeling in a fish to reveal a final multiplier value. It’s essentially the same game for Lil’ Blues, Big Oranges or Huge Reds, the only difference being the likely size of the fish and final multiplier value.
Huge Reds offer the biggest payouts – up to 500×. Big Oranges and Lil’ Blues max out at 200× and 100× respectively. These amounts can all be boosted up to 10× by a multiplier allocated on the wheel for a top payout of 5,000× on a Huge Reds catch.
A win through to the bonus game simply involves watching as the presenter pretend to reel in the fish.

If it’s too big for her to land, a crane arrives to continue the job. Then a small chopper. Then a heavy lift chopper depending on just how big your fish is.

This Huge Red turned out to be a whopper with a 130× payout!

Ice Fishing RTP by bet
| Bet | Payout | Bet max | Payout cap | Return to Player (RTP) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Leaf 1 | 1 – 9:1 | €10,000 | N/A | 97.10% |
| Leaf 2 | 1 – 9:1 | €10,000 | N/A | 97.10% |
| Lil’ Blues | up to 999:1 | €2,500 | €500,000 | 95.69%* |
| Big Oranges | up to 1,999:1 | €1,000 | €500,000 | 95.60%* |
| Huge Reds | up to 4,999:1 | €500 | €500,000 | 95.17%* |
* less for bets that activating the payout cap.
Your best bet from an RTP perspective are the boring old leaf bets. A play at the big payout bonus games return less. These returns are reduced further for bets that bring the game’s single round payout cap (€500,000) into play.
For example, a max bet of €500 on Huge Reds winning a max payout of 5000x, would return €2,500,000 but for the payout cap. With the cap in play this return is severely compromised and the RTP reduced (to 94.55% for max bets). Any Huge Red bets above €100 bring the cap into play.
Optimal play strategy for this game becomes:
- stick to the Leaf bets
- if the lure of big payouts draws you to the bonus game bets, stick to bets that don’t bring the payout cap into play:
– for Lil’ Blues less than €500
– for Big Oranges less than €250
– for Huge Reds less than €100
