Disco Balls Live from Evolution

Disco Balls Live is a ball draw game show from Evolution. It comes with a myriad of payout multipliers plus the chance to play the Disco bonus games first introduced in Funky Time.

You can play Disco Balls at at casino carrying Evolution’s live games, including 888, Stake and Frumzi.

How to Play Disco Balls

The premise of the game is very simple. You’re betting on which numbered ball (1 to 20) will be drawn from a physical ball draw machine. The bet selector lets you place your chips on individual numbers 1 through 20, Low (1-10), High (11-20), Odd or Even. Bets on the Low, High, Odd or Even are distributed proportionately across all included numbers.

A chip on the drawn number wins a payout, (or through to the bonus game). The win condition is simple. The payout that applies, by contrast, is based on a pretty convoluted multiplier stacking process.

The Disco Balls multipliers

The base multiplier for a drawn number is 5×. But after bets close multipliers escalate across the board in a variety of ways.

Multiplier ladder and Step Balls

In addition to the 20 numbered balls, the ball draw machine contains a bunch of red and gold ‘Step Balls’.

  • If a red Step Ball is drawn, the red multiplier ladder moves up a rung (or 2) to a higher multiplier value and the payout for odd numbers increases.
  • If a gold Step Ball is drawn (as pictured above), the gold multiplier ladder moves up a rung (or 2) to a higher multiplier value and the payout for even numbers increases.

Disco Cat

While Step Balls are being drawn, the animated Disco Cat keeps throwing random multipliers at the board, boosting payouts. It can also throw Disco Bonus and VIP Disco Bonus game symbols.

Basically, the longer it takes for a numbered ball to appear, the higher multipliers climb.

Result Ball

The main game concludes when a numbered ball (Results Ball) is drawn. In the example game pictured, 5 is the result and by the time it is drawn, the payout had been boosted from the base 5× up to 51×.

Disco and VIP Disco Bonus Games

If the number drawn has a Disco Bonus or VIP Disco Bonus symbol on it, the corresponding bonus game is triggered, and any bets on that number carry though.

The Disco bonus games are entirely RNG affairs. You watch Mr Funky strut his stuff on the dance floor, racking up multipliers as he goes. The mechanics of both games is identical, but the multipliers on the VIP version are higher.

Disco Balls Payouts and Theoretical Returns

Payouts range from the base 5× up to a maximum of 10,000×. There is also a payout cap of €500,000 which does impact return to player rates for those placing bets at the top end of the limit range.

  • RTP for maximum bets: 95.25%
  • RTP otherwise: 96.08%

Not a lot of strategy to playing this game,  other than avoiding maximum bets.

Advantage players will likely avoid the game altogether as much better live game returns are available elsewhere.
