Paf closes to Italian players...buys Winga...

    Just received...

Due to regulatory reasons, Paf has decided to block gambling on the site paf.com in Italy. In practice this means that Paf.com will no longer be open for play as from 11 November 2014 and the following restrictions will apply:

    • Paf will disable the possibility for new customers in Italy to register a gaming account at Paf.com
    • Paf will disable the possibility for existing customers in Italy to play at Paf.com and make deposits
Italian customers with funds in their account will need to contact Paf customer support to arrange withdrawal.

Doubt they were a massive brand in Italy anyway
'coz good old fashioned real random beats simulated random any day

Probably not, but seems they have plans to be bigger...

Paf have bought Italian operator Winga from Buongiorno SpA.

Winga currently offers online casino, poker and bingo products, plus a television channel with a live roulette show.

Anders Ingves, CEO of Paf said ...

The acquisition of Winga is part of our strategy of continued internationalisation and expansion. We see great potential in Winga’s well-established operational base in combination with Paf’s international industry experience and broad range of products. As a first step, we will expand Winga’s product range to include additional casino games and betting in the next few years.

Which most likely translates into the addition of new live dealer games at some point.

The Winga.it site is currently powered by Playtech. Whereas Paf live dealer games are from Evolution Gaming so it's open to speculation who's games may feature at Winga.it in a couple of years time

A news item from February that I missed at the time:

Paf have sold Winga to LeoVegas.

Paf CEO Christer Fahlstedt said of the transition,

The Italian market is not aligned with Paf's future strategy. We received a generous offer from the buyer, and the time was right to sell.
