New Jersey legalizes intrastate online casino games

Hot on the heals of Nevada's new law, New Jersey has legalized online casino games.

Governor Chris Christie signed the bill into law Tuesday. If you live in New Jersey, soon you won't have to make the trip to Atlantic City to play blackjack, craps, roulette etc - you'll be able to do it online.

Whether that includes live games...we'll have to wait and see but I'd be surprised if they don't pop up soon!

Well I assume it means we will see more online gambling companies entering the US market if, and as when more states pass laws making online gambling legal etc.


Several months ago 888 was awarded a license to be an ‘Interactive Gaming Service Provider’ by the Nevada Gaming Commission. See LD's blogs ....

Seems they've set the go-live dates for New Jersey's online casinos as 26 November, following a 5 day 'soft play period' period beginning on the 21st (you were pretty close luckiest gambler!)

During the soft play period, only selected players will be able to play...and this is supposed to work as a test period to make sure the systems all work - with emphasis on the geo-location tracking I imagine. No word on how players are selected for the the soft play period.
