Pragmatic Play are making big moves in live casino gaming.
At London’s ICE Totally Gaming Expo in February, they showcased games from their newly constructed dealer studio in Bucharest. Last month they announced that the new studio had been given the thumbs up to launch by the Romanian regulator.
Launched they have, with a couple of content supply deals already announced in the last couple of weeks. One of them including the provision of dedicated, branded tables no less!
The New Bucharest Studio
Romania is fast becoming one of the world’s live dealer studio location hotspots. Its capital Bucharest is home to studios run by Evolution Gaming, Playtech, Ezugi and now Pragmatic Play.
Pragmatic Play use the phrases cutting edge and state of the art to describe their new studio (popular industry choices). It has a present capacity for 43 tables. They say there is also room to grow with a possibility for future extensions, which goes without saying. But even 43 tables lets them serve quite a few clients.
Among these 43 tables are mainstays live blackjack, roulette and baccarat. There’s also speed roulette and Super 6 baccarat for a little extra variety. Dedicated, casino branded tables will also take up some floor space, and indeed already have.
Pragmatic Play’s Bucharest studio was granted license approval to Romanian regulator (ONJN) in April, and they have wasted little time selling their live tables to operators with 2 deals in the last couple of weeks already.
New license deals
Pragmatic have the advantage of being a reasonably well established (RNG) casino games supplier, with exposure to a number of large online casino operators already. Kindred, Pokerstars, Leo Vegas and Svenska Spel are among the companies that they already have a relationship with. This will give them a foot in the door selling their new live game product.
They have already signed INTERWETTEN and yesterday they announced 1xBet as the latest brand that will be offering players Pragmatic Play live games. The latter will include the provision of dedicated, 1xBet branded tables.
A 1xBet quote from yesterday’s release read,
“We are thrilled to be rolling out Pragmatic Play’s custom solution, with the dedicated environment surpassing our expectations and significantly enhancing our brand exposure.”
Whatever happened to Extreme Live?
The above developments aren’t Pragmatic Play’s first moves into live gaming. In June 2018 they bought existing live game provider Extreme Live Gaming for an undisclosed sum.
Extreme Live had been serving their London studio based live game to a growing list clients including Betsson, Leo Vegas, Mr Green and Grosvenor.
For reasons known only to Pragmatic Play, they shut down the Extreme Live shortly after paying for it. Instead, deciding to rebuild from scratch an alternative to what they had just paid good money for (not to mention the goodwill from existing supply deals).
