It’s game on again in South Africa

Last week  both Piggs Peak and Silver Sands casinos shut their doors to South African players following a High Court ruling declaring net casinos illegal in that country.

Now they’re open again. Gee whiz, didn’t see this coming.

Piggs Peak have been granted leave to appeal, so until there is a final appellate court decision, in the words of the casino’s marketing manager…”it is business as usual.”

Understandably miffed at this development the Gauteng Gambling Board have vowed to seek forfeiture of any gains made by the casino between 20 August 2010 (date of original ruling) and the date of the final appeal decision, if it goes GGB’s way.

Of course the big downside for South Africans is that they will continue to be subjected to commercials on television like this one…
