Nevada, Alderney and 888Casino

Alderney Nevada 888Last month New Jersey’s State Assembly overwhelming voted in favor of new online gambling laws that would allow Atlantic City casinos to offer games online.  The bill’s still sitting on Governor Christie’s desk awaiting his signature before it becomes law (apparently he had is pen out yesterday signing a few bills into law…unfortunately not this one yet).

Now it looks as though NJ’s bigger casino cousin Nevada may be edging closer to opening the doors to online play.

Word is that the British-based Alderney Gambling Control Commission and the Nevada Gaming Control Board have come to an agreement involving the sharing of skills and information.

Alderney will get the benefit of Nevada’s decades of experience in the areas of investigation, compliance and developing technical standards.  The NGCB will get Alderney’s insights into the world of online gambling.

Alderney is a net-gambling license jurisdiction on the UK Gambling Commission White-List and widely considered one of the tighter regulators in the industry.

The inference being drawn from this little partnership is that the NGCB are prepping themselves for online regulation. Some reports are even suggesting they are already looking at 888 Gaming, owners of 888Casino to assess their suitability as a NGCB licensed online operator (unless 888 are planning on turning soil and building a casino in Vegas which would be highly unlikely!).
