Playtech announces Spanish live games streamed from Casino Gran Madrid

Pretty soon players from Spain will be able to play games live streamed from inside the Casino Gran Madrid.

Playtech announced yesterday that they’d reached an agreement with Casino Gran Madrid to live stream games from the floor of the casino, located on the A-6 highway just north of Madrid.

The arrangement was foreshadowed mid last year when Playtech revealed their plans for the newly licensed Spanish market. A Spanish based bricks and mortar casino had to be part of equation since new regulations in Spain require than live dealer games offered online to Spanish players have to originate from a bricks-and-mortar casino venue inside that country.

Given an existing relationship with Playtech, Casino Gran Madrid was always the odds-on choice. Aviv Nankin, Playtech’s Head of Live Games had this to say of the new deal:

We are pleased to partner with the Casino Gran Madrid as this partnership will further cement the relationship and enable Playtech to enter the Spanish market, a new live gaming market appealing to both existing and new licensees…With Playtech’s leadership in regulated markets combined with its best-of-breed products and the Casino Gran Madrid’s land-based expertise, we see a great future for the live gaming industry in Spain.

There is a downside for Spanish players of course…they won’t be able to play with Playtech’s Latvian lovelies.  A prospect that I know some of them aren’t too thrilled with.

Perhaps Casino Gran Madrid’s dealers will be muy bonito also?

As for which games will be offered, nothing concrete announced yet although I’d bet my left testicle that live Ruleta and live Punto y Banca will be among the first to launch – as ‘one to many’ games they’re an easy fit for live online play even if offered from existing tables in the casino. Blackjack will be a little trickier and may require special purpose tables being added.
