Live Dealers coming to Danske Spil

Danske-Spil

First a few ramblings. Official release below.

If you make enough predictions, eventually one of them will come true.

Winding the clock back to October 12 2011, and a post on Denmark’s newly introduced online gambling laws, there was this little gem:

From a live gaming perspective, the good news is that the permitted games happen to be consistent with the type of games offered in live dealer format.  Don’t be surprised if we start to see the introduction of Danish speaking dealers…

Now, courtesy of a new licence arrangement between Evolution Gaming and Danske Spil, players in Denmark will soon be able to play their live dealer game of choice with their national lottery provider, at tables with dealers who are native-speaking Danes.

Danske Spil’s soon to be launched live casino will come with a dedicated area complete with all the Danske branding and trimmings. As a large organization accustomed (until recently) to being the dominant monopoly operator in their market, it is reasonable to assume they’ll be wanting their private area to be a biggie. Søren Schneider, their casino and poker games boss is on the record as wanting provide, “a 100% unique Danish offering to our customers.

No ETA given on when we can expect the Danske Spil live casino to launch. Until it does Danish players can always play Evolution Gaming live dealers at casino listed here.

In the meantime, if any Danes happen to drop by, would you mind letting us know what, ‘til glaede og til gavn‘  translates to in English?

According to Google it is:

to the benefit and for the benefit

Something lost in translation here. Unless Yoda is part of the Danske Spil marketing department.

(PRESS RELEASE) — 12 February 2014. Evolution Gaming, the world leader in video-streamed Live Dealer gaming, has announced that it has signed an agreement with Danske Licens Spil to launch a unique new online Live Casino for Denmark’s liberalised gaming market.

State-owned Danske Licens Spil’s new service will include dedicated Live Casino tables hosted at Evolution’s new Malta studios. These tables will be created in an area devoted exclusively to the Danish national lottery and gambling operator. The dedicated area will feature Danske Licens Spil design, décor and branding throughout, as well as dedicated teams of dealers. Uniquely for the Danish market, dealers at one or more tables will be native speaking Danes.

To meet expected high demand from online players, Danske Licens Spil will also give its customers access to a comprehensive range of core live tables hosted at Evolution’s studios in Latvia: Live Roulette, Blackjack, Baccarat and Casino Hold’em, as well as Evolution’s multi-camera Immersive Roulette and Mini Live Roulette.

Until the 2012 market liberalisation, Danske Spil was, in law, the only organisation able to operate gambling in Denmark. But whilst liberalisation has allowed others to enter the market, Danske Spil has retained its monopoly in games of luck, excluding casino games.

Evolution, meanwhile, was one of the first Live Casino providers to be approved by SKAT, the Danish regulator, and to begin operations on behalf of licensees in the re-regulated Danish market.

Søren Schneider, Head of Casino, Poker & Games at Danske Licens Spil, commented:

“Adding Evolution’s world-leading Live Casino will enhance our position as market leader in Denmark. Our dedicated tables in particular will enable us to strengthen our brand online and we are looking forward to provide a 100% unique Danish offering to our customers. With a Live Casino product we will be able to offer a full unique casino experience which will give us an extra advantage in a very competitive market.”

Fredrik Osterberg, Chief Commercial Officer at Evolution, added:

“We are very proud to announce this agreement with Danske Licens Spil. Danske Licens Spil’s new service will also include the first ever native speaking dealer Live Casino for Denmark, so it’s sure to be keenly anticipated by Danish speaking players. We are looking very much to working with the leader in this dynamic market.”
