Fester’s Findings – July 2014

Summer finally arrived in Latvia. Dealers overly preened hair styles were looking slightly windswept from the cooling breeze of fans. Below is a wrap up of what you might have missed for the hot summer month of July.

 

2014 FIFA World Cup (part deux)

Germany won the World Cup and dealers went back to their old uniforms. Or did they? … more on that later.

By the end of the tournament the Sports Roulette dealers at Evolution had worn most team shirts including next host Russia. President Putin was busy in Russia signing new gambling zone legislation.

Meanwhile the Evolution dealers in Latvia were helping to provide cover for a temporary shortage of shufflers (wonder if they were all watching the football?). The dealers seemed in good spirits about losing some of their break time and were talking to players while shuffling. Perhaps the new kitchen area and latest Evolution staff perk of free coffee/chocolate drinks from the drinks machine helped maintain staff morale 🙂

Evolution tables continue to increase

More table choice is always a good thing for players.

Just after I had wrote last month’s blog came the news players in the forum had been waiting for that the Casinó Campione d’Italia tables were now live (currently 1 each of roulette, blackjack & baccarat). Italian players can now choose to play at Evolution’s Malta studio tables, or ‘try their luck’ with genuine Italian dealers streamed from the bricks-and-mortar casino in Italy.

Localised language tables are becoming commonplace at Evolution casinos.

Danske Spil dedicated area

Danish became the latest language at the Malta studio with the opening of Danske Spil’s dedicated blackjack and roulette tables. Denmark’s national lottery provider tables look nice with their casino logo and Danish text.

888 casino new table

Evolution staff managed to squeeze in another blackjack table into 888 casino’s dedicated area. That takes the table count to 6 blackjack tables (including VIP) and 1 roulette table now to enjoy the pleasure of 888’s dealer team.

The new ‘888 SELECT’ table is currently open from 5pm until 1am GMT.

New Playtech dealer uniforms and tables

Details began to leak out how the new area is progressing at Playtech. The dealers have been trying on their new uniform.

Here is a peek what the new dresses look like (hopefully the dealers are more lifelike when they are dealing at the tables).

The company that runs the Euro studio was acquired by Playtech in January. Expansion is necessary if they are to match performance targets. This is probably made more difficult by the relentless growth of local rival Evolution and the flow of dealers from Playtech to Evolution Gaming.

Dealers also leave the studio in the summer months once their studies have finished. Coupled with the fact that some dealers and a CSR are on maternity leave. I imagine the human resources department are always thinking about the next recruitment drive event to ensure adequate dealer numbers to work the tables … especially when they know more tables are coming.
