Evolution rolls out Blackjack Bet Behind

Evolution Gaming rolled out their new Blackjack Bet Behind feature in limited release in November.

It’s now available on all their general floor tables (green only presently, not VIP/red), meaning you can use the feature at any casino offering Evolution’s games (check the live casino summary page).

What’s Bet Behind?

Bet Behind allows you to bet on a hand being played by another player. You may want to do this because there are no spare seats available, or simply because you trust that player’s blackjack skills more than your own.

Either way, once you’ve placed your chip in the BET BEHIND box of a seated player, you take no active part in the game.

All seats are currently occupied, but you can
always bet behind any active player.

 

This is the greeting you’ll now receive when you open a full live blackjack table. If a table’s not full you won’t get the greeting but bet behind is still available.

Should you choose to join the action, simply place a chip in any of the BET BEHIND boxes during the allowed bet time (same as seated players), and you’re in the game…

If they win…you win. If they lose, you lose. Payouts are identical to those received by the active players…

Choose the player or players you want to back. You can bet behind any number of seated players…

A few noteworthy features

1. Limits for bet behind play are lower than those offered to seated players.
2. Active player history: you’ll see little numbered stars along side all active players. The number tells you how many previous successive hand wins the player has had. The idea here is to give you some insight into the form of the player you’re about to put your faith in.
   A win/loss % would be a better indicator I reckon…but the general idea of an active player form indicator is a good one.
3. You can moderate the extent to which you follow a player’s decision making when it comes to Doubling Down and Spitting, by fiddling with your Bet Behind settings.
   The default is to double your stake when they Double Down or Split. You can can choose not to double your stake in either case.
4. Chat is available when you’re betting behind. Good thing, given you’ll have some spare time on your hands!

Other platforms offering bet behind

Evolution Gaming aren’t new to the party when it comes to live blackjack bet behind. Playtech, Microgaming and HoGaming have been offering it for a while.
