How big are the biggest live casinos?
Gauging the size of the world’s biggest land based casinos is a pretty easy thing to do. Enter the vast 550,000 square feet gaming floor of Venetian Macau with a seeming endless array of tables (mostly baccarat) and it’s clear you’re inside something enormous.
Enter (or log into) your favourite live casino and with the magic of technology all of the tables available to you are neatly compartmentalised inside your computer.
Doesn’t feel big at all. But unpack what’s inside there and it definitely is.
A few years ago it was mentioned in one of Evolution’s results presentations that if their Riga studio were a public access casino, they would easily be the biggest casinos in Europe. And that is only one of their dozen global studios, which collectively stream action from over 1,000 tables at any given time.
Consider further, that these days the bigger live casinos offer action from multiple providers. So the number of games/tables/dealers available at any given time actually dwarfs some of the world’s largest land based casinos.
A simple comparison of the number of gaming tables shows this to be the case.
Biggest live casinos – available tables
Below is a count of available tables (counted today) at two of the heavyweight live casino operators, Unibet and 888. It’s worth noting that the number of tables available will vary depending on player location. From Australia for example you can’t access any. The below count shows access from Ireland.
Live tables at 888…
- Blackjack 190
- Roulette: 83
- Baccarat: 88
- Poker: 14
- Game shows: 20
Total tables (excluding game shows): 375
Live tables at Unibet…
- Blackjack 165
- Roulette 39
- Baccarat 68
- Poker 7
- Game shows 20
Total tables (excluding game shows): 279
In case you’re wondering why both totals are significantly less than the 1,000+ operated by Evolution alone, the answer is that a good chunk of this total is represented by exclusive, branded tables not available to all operators (you can’t play Unibet tables at 888 for example).
Still, the 375 tables available at 888 make it considerably larger than the biggest casinos in Las Vegas.
Biggest casinos in Las Vegas – available tables
- Wynn/Encore – 191,424 square ft of gaming floor: The biggest casino in Vegas, 180 table games
- MGM Grand – 161,880square ft of gaming floor: 159 table games
- Bellagio – 156,000 square ft of gaming floor: 135 table games
- Aria – 150,000 square ft of gaming floor: 145 table games
Gives you some perspective.
