Bold 2023 plans for Authentic Gaming

It’s that time of year when some are prone to making resolutions for the year ahead.

In a recently published interview with iGB, head of marketing and strategy at Authentic Gaming, Dagmara Bator has laid bare her company’s ambitions for 2023. And they are ambitious.

First, a bit of a recap on Authentic’s 2022. This was interesting to read because, owing to their dialled up GEO restrictions, we haven’t had much of an opportunity to play their games of late.

A big part of the year has been settling into being part of a much larger organisation, following acquisition by Las Vegas based, NASDAQ listed Light & Wonder (formerly Scientific Gaming Corp). No doubt some administrative upheaval to deal with. Also the opportunity to leverage the considerable online casino game IP owned by Light & Wonder to improve Authentic’s offering.

No doubt Light & Wonder are eager to provider whatever help they can to give Authentic a leg up. After all – and this is a telling statistic, according to Bator, the live casino market globally now comprises approximately 30% of the igaming industry. Definitely no longer a niche!

Game range has expanded. From pretty much a one trick pony (albeit a good trick: nice in-casino roulette tables), Authentic have added studio live blackjack and baccarat tables. And their blackjack tables come with the biggest range of side-bets you will find anywhere.

These new tables need to be housed somewhere. No surprise to hear their Malta studio has doubled in size during the year.

So has their Spanish studio, which houses live roulette variations including another new launch for 2022 – XL Roulette. Multiplier games are a must these days for any provider claiming to be at the forefront, so XL Roulette was a pretty important addition.

So what’s in store for 2023 then?

Europe is a focus, but North America is described as the ‘main course’. That main course starts with building a new US live casino studio in Michigan, set to go live in 2023. According to Bator,

“We want to focus on expanding in America first and foremost. After Michigan, Authentic Gaming will be available in New Jersey and Pennsylvania – watch this space!”

The new studios will house games/tables built from the ground up to suit US playing preferences, rather than simply tweaking the exiting EU formula. This is the claim anyway. The reality will likely be somewhere in between.

Hopefully we get to play some of these games in the not too distant future!
