Squeeze Baccarat and Turbo Baccarat tables live from Pragmatic

Squeeze Baccarat and Turbo Baccarat tables have made an appearance in the Pragmatic Play’s live games lobby this month.

The tables are at opposite ends of the spectrum from a speed of play standpoint. Turbo Baccarat is as fast a live baccarat deal as you’ll find online. While Squeeze Baccarat isn’t about speed at all. Its all about the ritualistic squeezing of the cards.

In terms of house rules and theoretical returns, the games are identical. Consistent with all Pragmatic live baccarat tables, the main game on either table can be played in:

  • regular (or Commission) payout mode (Banker 0.95:1, Player 1:1, Tie 8:1), or
  • No Commission payout mode (Banker 1:1 unless win value 6 then 0.5:1, Player 1:1, Tie 8:1)

You also have the ability to flip between payout modes between deals at the flick of a switch. No Commission payout mode comes with a Super 6 side bet. Otherwise side bets offered on either payout mode are identical.

Squeeze Baccarat and Turbo Baccarat area all about catering to different player deal preferences.

What’s card squeezing?

Baccarat card squeezing, or card peeking is a ritual where players gradually reveal their cards by bending or peeling the edges, prolonging the moment of truth. It’s a practise rooted in tradition but persists today as a blend of superstition and psychological thrill, most common in high-stakes games.

Players relish the tactile control and suspense, even though outcomes are predetermined once dealt. The ritual is especially prominent in Asian markets. Walk the floor of a Macau casino and you’ll bear witness to the complete destruction of playing cards dealt on the baccarat tables.

Looking to satisfy players’ need to squeeze (playing online), Evolution introduced a Controlled Squeeze Baccarat table back in 2016, following on from the success of their (dealer controlled) squeeze table. Both tables remain in their baccarat lineup today.

Pragmatic’s Squeeze Baccarat table works just like Evolution’s. Rather than the cards being dealt face-up, they’re dealt face down but on card readers.

Virtual equivalents are presented for you to digitally squeeze. Dragging your pointer you can fold back the virtual depiction of the cards horizontally or vertically, slowing revealing pips as you please.

You get to squeeze the cards dealt to the position you have a bet on (initial and any third cards).

Of course none of this changes the outcome one iota. It also makes for a pretty slow game round given players have 15 seconds to peek at their initial cards and any third cards dealt.

Pragmatic typically present their tables beautifully. Their Squeeze Baccarat table is no exception.

First adopters at launch were: Dafabet, Dublinbet and Stake.

Pragmatic’s Turbo Baccarat Live

For players who carer less about rituals that have no impact on outcomes, and more about game speed, there’s Turbo Baccarat.

With a mere 5 seconds to get your bets on, and a then a deliberately brisk card deal, rounds on this table do come very fast. It’s similar in deal frequency to Evolution’s Super Speed Baccarat.

Casinos first to add Pragmatic’s Turbo Baccarat include Leo VegasDafabet and 888.
