Need for Speed – Turbo Baccarat
It wouldn’t surprise me if one of the key KPI’s for live platform development teams at Evolution, Playtech, Microgaming and others is something like:
Average stake amount per player per hour.
There seems to be a concerted drive to give us the opportunity to bet more, faster.
Here are a few noticeable developments…
1. Live game limits have risen
Maximums are creeping up. That’s OK. You’re not forced to bet the maximum. The trouble starts when minimums increase substantially. Hunt around and you can still find the low minimum tables but they’re becoming rarer on the bigger platforms (especially for blackjack).
Playing at BV Grand at BetVictor today there was a single $10 minimum blackjack table. Of course it was full. Next step up was a $50 minimum. Their VIP blackjack tables started at $100.
2. Playing only 1 table at a time is so yesterday
Multiple table play is apparently a big hit with players (according to at least one developer). I’m not a massive fan (yet).
Don’t get me wrong. From a delivery perspectives it works quite impressively. I just find there’s a little too much going on when you’re playing, for example, three games of blackjack and a game of roulette all at the same time.
Your chips are flying all over the place, you’re seeing 4 sets of lips moving but only hearing one voice in your ear, while all the time trying to make sure you don’t forget to hit on something like 3 6 against the dealer’s 10 on one of your blackjack tables. Forget trying to have a chat with any of the dealers!
For those of you less concentration-challenged, multiple table play may be right up your alley. But make no mistake, it is sure to increase your wagering volumes.
3. ‘Place your bets’ time decreasing
Stumbled across Microgaming‘s new baccarat game today. It’s called Turbo Baccarat. Identical in every respect to their normal live baccarat game in all but one respect…time to place your bets is only 10 seconds making it equal fastest live baccarat deal, alongside Bodog88’s Zone Baccarat.
As an aside, if you’re after double trouble you can also play multiple tables at Microgaming and Bodog, making for multiple fast deals!
Thankfully, for those of us that enjoy our live games over a cup of coffee and an opportunity to smell the roses as it were, you will always be able to find:
- reasonable limits;
- on a single table;
- with non-turbo charged deal intervals.
