Slow round of Speed Blackjack

Below is Ruthy dealing up a storm on one of Pragmatic’s Speed Blackjack tables.

On these tables players receive their first 2 cards in traditional order. But subsequent cards are drawn on a first to decide, first to receive basis. You can read more about Pragmatic Speed Blackjack tables here.

Evolution pioneered this blackjack speed deal concept and judging by the number of tables popping up these days, it’s pretty popular with players. Understandably so as it does make for much quicker bet rounds. Particularly on full tables.

Anyway, keen for a few fast and furious rounds with Ruthy, I took a seat and got my €10 bet down.

But rather than deal out the cards, she informed us it was time for a dealer change and proceeded to up and leave. Would have up and left myself at this point, although with the bet accepted I was committed to see out the deal.

Enter Gerald. Ruthy’s decidedly less attractive replacement.

Gerald was also, ironically in no hurry to take his seat and get dealing at a table with the word SPEED loudly printed by his forearm. Waiting, waiting, waiting. Getting slightly annoyed.

After more than a minute, which felt like 3, the deal finally began. Gerald redeemed himself dealing me JK against a dealers 6 up card. All was forgiven with an almost certain collect on the way.

Until he managed to draw 21.

And so ended the slowest and most disappointing round of live dealer speed blackjack I have ever played.

A lamentable round of Speed Blackjack…

On a brighter note, below is one of Pragmatic’s Ruby (high limits) blackjack tables. Numbered Blackjack 70 it highlights how large the Pragmatic blackjack table range now is (yes, Blackjack 1 through do 69 exist).

I was tempted to take a seat. But a fear that Perla would leave and be replaced with Gerald and another bad beat had me thinking better of it. Especially with bets starting at €100.
