Mega Fortune by name Mega Fortune by nature

This is the first (and probably the last) post I’ll ever do here on a game of slots.  Don’t like them.  Never have.  Can’t understand why people play them.

Call them what you want, slots, slot machines, one-armed bandits, pokies…they’re all programmed to payout X% of all cash that is fed into them – and X is usually significantly less than 100!

As well as gobbling your cash they’re mind numbingly boring.  If I’m going to throw my cash away in quick time, I at least want some kind of pleasure (guilty of otherwise) for my expense.  Like I said…just don’t get slots.

HOWEVER, at the risk of sounding like a politician back-peddling on an election promise, today I saw something that got me just a little interested in a game of slots. Still didn’t play, but I did at least understand where the allure comes from for some.

This is a slot game called Mega Fortune and I noticed it while visiting Unibet casino to play some live games.

It’s a progressive slot game which means it’s linked across a number of casinos running the software (Net Entertainment) powering the game.  All play across participating casinos adds to the game’s jackpot value which happens to currently be over €9 million and climbing!

This is getting into national lottery territory for a reasonable sized country!  Admittedly, you probably facing similar odds of hitting the jackpot on each spin.  But shit that’s a lot of money.

When it goes off some lucky bugger is going to be very, very happy.

And few hundred thousand other punters are going to have to forget what they invested chasing the dream.

The jackpot was hit on 24 Sept by a 20 year old Norwegian student playing the game at Betsson.

He won €11.7 million…the new world record for an online jackpot.

Would you believe he won it with a free spin!
