Shuffle up – Can you guess the shuffle protocal?

Most of you reading this post will know there are a bunch of reasons why a blackjack shuffle is critical.  For those who don’t, read this article about counting cards and this post about blackjack shuffle tracking.

If you can’t be bothered reading either, then just take my word for it – the shoe/deck shuffle is crucial.

Because of this, we go to some effort to try and understand exactly what the shuffle procedures are for live blackjack at the various platform dealer studios.  Thankfully most actually stipulate in their game rules how they shuffle-up.

The common practice is re-shuffles mid shoe.

We couldn’t find Microgaming’s stated shuffle policy so hung around and waited for a shuffle just to see if they go with the usual cut card insertion 4 decks into the 8-deck shoe…Nup.
